It would certainly be better and less exploitative coming from Reeves than M. Night (I quite like Split but there’s a real theme in his recent work of ‘Aren’t the mentally ill funny and scary???’), it’s just something that rubs me the wrong way.I think Dent has the upper hand because his two identities are intelligent straightforward District Attorny and then Angry vengeful District Attorney, no female, child, immigrant, off the beaten path identities
Adum from YMS reviewed Glass perfectly IMHO. I always thought there was something majorly missing from that movie. It would certainly be better and less exploitative coming from Reeves than M. A duality in how Dent thinks of himself and dissociating when he slips into Two-Face is distinct from a literal Jekyll/Hyde thing to me.
Honestly, I wouldn't at all be surprised if Alfred was the one who trained Bruce in this universe and not Ra's/League of Shadows. We seem to be getting a very different type of Alfred here
Wasn't this how Aronofsky did it in his Year One script
I guess I remembered the grease monkey/homemade aspect of Aronofsky's Bruce and conflated that with Gotham's Alfred.Arronofsky’s Bruce never really trained at all and his Alfred (Little Al) was more of a big brother and moral sounding board for Bruce.
What I think would be interesting is to sort of meld the Earth One and traditional versions of Alfred and make him more complicit and involved in Bruce’s training. Maybe he takes young Bruce around the world, he knows where and who to go to to learn.
So far it seems confirmed that Metropolis exists, but if Matt Reeves is going for 100% grounded take, then while Lex Luthor and Lois Lane can still exist (and other human characters from Superman comics, like Jimmy Olsen.), Superman himself would only exist as a "fictional" character in that universe. So, if Superman exists in the world from this movie, what would he and Metropolis be like? Does that mean Luthor and the Daily Planet also exist?

Superman is directly referenced so he likely existsSo far it seems confirmed that Metropolis exists, but if Matt Reeves is going for 100% grounded take, then while Lex Luthor and Lois Lane can still exist (and other human characters from Superman comics, like Jimmy Olsen.), Superman himself would only exist as a "fictional" character in that universe.
Might seem a bit under-whelming at first but this is still something new in a "Batman" movie. I would like to see it.
