I think when Joaquin said his Joker would feel a ''urge of excitement'' if someone like Batman existed proves that it can be done. Just not in the way we expect or want, which is sincerely why I watch movies, by being impressed and surprised.

Arthur may see Batman as his opposite and find him fascinating for having everything he ever wanted. A righteous man never losing hope in humanity, like he did.

There were set pictures of some guys using a cell phone as they jumped a jogger, so I'm sure all of this is to give the film more of a timeless/grimey vibe.

Plot twist: They weren't actually filming The Batman and this actually was just some dude getting mugged by a local gang in Glasgow.

HD was a thing in the late 90s also facetiming or video calls have been around for awhile. Bruce even uses his watch in Batman Forever to talk with Alfred .

I'm sorry, but this post makes me have to ask how old are you? Anyone who lived through dial-up internet and early 2G phones would not make such an argument.

Smart phones did not exist until the the late 2000s and apps like Facetime until much later with the general availability of high speed data coverage. Bruce's watch as video communicator in Forever was an example of Bruce having futuristic sci-fi technology.

If they were smart, they would do a joker sequel, similar to 'one flew over the cuckoo's nest' but...... and this would take a genius team behind the movie to do... but have it where the movie contradicts the first one, but not in a derivative way - so that it's like we just don't know what is truth, what is fiction etc and leads perfectly to this batman.

I don’t think it’s Joaquin because he’s not going to commit this quickly, and they’re not going to green light a Joker tease without him. I’m sure there will be a Easter egg in Arkham about Joker but that’s it. The big setup will likely be Robin.

We really don’t need Joker as a main villain in this trilogy.
