BvS The Batwing Thread

We don't need it. It could be nice to have, but the story does not need it. And again... Bruce does'nt have a jet of any kind that wouldn't be scrapped in a second. We have a spectacular looking Batmobile, a must for Bats. A jet is gravy.

I don't follow your logic here, I'm afraid... can't the batmobile also be scrapped in a second? if that's a criteria for ditching Batmans vehicles, then we should ditch them all, along with the batmobile.

And also how can you tell if the story needs it or not, if you haven't read the script? It gives him an aerial advantage he otherwise wouldn't have. One can argue that story always needs it.

Forget any criteria, mostly since I wasn't trying to lay down any fast or loose law, just stating my opinion.

But... A Batmobile is sort of a must for Batman. It's how he gets around Gotham, natch. A Bat Jet of any kind is nice, and might be necessary for any given story, but is it a must? Even in a film with Superman, is it an absolute necessity? Hell, even in Miller's TDKReturns, Batman didn't use a jet against Superman. I think that there's no reason as far as I can see now, to have a scene IN THIS FILM where Batman uses a jet against Superman. Certainly not one where without extreme contrivance, the jet is even half way effective against Superman. The Batmobile isn't going to stymie Superman without contrivance or plot armor either, but like I stated, Batman NEEDS the Batmobile as part of his modus operandi in a way that he doesn't NEED the Bat-wing. And it's not that I don't want to see all of Batman's toys. I do. Like I stated REPEATEDLY already... just not in this film. Save it for a JL or a solo.

But who said the batwing needs to be against Superman? what if the batwing appears when they're folks? maybe not against him, just if Superman flies really fast to a far away location that also needs bats, then bats would need something that can put him in the same level but of course not in the attack level, I'd say SUPPORT even for Supes.

Fine. Throw it all out there. Bat-Jets, Bat-Boat, Bat-Glider, Bat-Inflatable Raft, Bat-Extreme Sport Street Bat-Luge, Bat-Inline Skates, Bat-Nuclear Powered Pogo Stick, Bat-Bungee, Bat-Slip n' Slid, Bat-Boogie Board, Bat-Catapult or Bat-A-Pult, Bat-Magnetic Levitation Train, Bat-Ski Lift, Bat-Tractor, Bat-Squirrel Glider Suit, Bat-Big Wheel (ironically the Bat-Big Wheel is actually just the Spider-Man Big Wheel with a couple of Batman stickers on it), Bat-TARDIS, Bat-Unicycle, Bat-High wire, Bat-Razor Scooter, Bat-Flubber Shoes, Bat-Flying Sombrero...

I just hope that it's an actual jet that can hover in place and not some weak helicopter idea.

Take it easy man... it's just a plane :oldrazz:
Not saying that 100% has to be in this. but is a possibility.

I have heard whispers of Batman having a vehicle that flies in this movie.

no huay. i was just thinking of the fleckmobile turning into the batwing ala the tumbler turning into a batbike after john made this thread. :wow: it already looks like darkwing duck's plane.:o

also, purple gloves.

Yes, yes, and YES to this thread! I love the 89 version and Snyder would make a really cool new version. Im sure of it, just look at the Owlship in Watchmen! And the new Batmobile looks cool! So a Snyder Batjet would certainly look and sound awesome!

Hmm, is it really needed though? Kind of overkill against regular thugs and of course we all saw with Faora Vs. the jet in MOS what a Kryptonian can do against earth technology. Maybe Krypton Inc is right, and the Batjet would be better in the JL movie? (As cool as it would be to have a surprise reveal moment with the 89 version)

I still say yes to this thread though, since it gives us something cool to discuss!

Edit: yes im aware i called it the Batjet instead of the Batwing. Thats what i have called it for years.

I hope it hangs like a bat exactly how they did in Batman Forever.

Cool list, i like the Bat-Flying Sombrero idea. You forgot a Bat-Blimp though!

See... All I thought about when I saw that set up in BF was, "How does he get that thing in and out?" (Well for BF in general my thinking was "Why am I watching a film with Tommy Lee Jones doing a crappy Road Show Nicholson Joker?", But I digress...) It's a cool visual but it's very over the top.

The Bat-Flying Sombrero is for South of the border operations only. The Bat-Blimp has been phased out in favor of the Bat-Zeppelin. Bruce is a huge fan of Jimmy Page.

There wasn't much need to question it given the film. :woot:

Ah, then we misunderstood each other. I didn't talk about using it against Superman, but as a support to him, as John-An already stated, since I guess they won't be at each others throat throughout the whole movie.
I just find that Bats would be seriously handicapped if he wouldn't have a way to travel nearly as fast as Superman and take a part in aerial fights here and there.

Now here, I completely agree with you.

would be awesome to see the Batwing

even if we don't see it in action, it would be a nice to see somewhere in the Batcave

My guess since I've seen that beauty of a Batmobile is that it will convert into a flying vehicle. Easier for Batman to get around, especially when you're dealing with a flying alien(s?), is Batman supposed to say "doh, let me go back to my cave and get my jet so I can keep up with you Mr. Superman" :)

Bat-flying sombrero would be cool.

To be honest, for this movie I think just the right amount of over-the-topness might be just what the doctor ordered.

Having the batwing hang there would be a cool visual and that's enough reason to have it hang there IMO. Even if he doesn't end up using it, it still belongs in the Batcave.

Guys, I have been thinking this for some time but didn't want to bring it up but now we have a Batwing thread - I may as well share what i have been thinking.

I believe the Fleckmobile may actually have the capability to disassemble and fly. If you look at the two boomerrang shaped "wings" on the new batmobile:

batmobile-detroit-00-1.jpg

I think that those two wings *could* slide forward into a winged shape and the cockpit could detach and fly. Is it far-fetched??? most definitely. For cinematic effects, I think it could happen.

the "fleckmobile" i spat out my drink laughing at that xD

You know... the batwing use is not to fight superman, if superman wants he can throw him out. It's a mean of transportation to get almost as fast as Superman can. And they won't be fighting all the time. You need to take that into consideration. ;)

I can see where you're coming from here, but those boomerang wings look too small for main flying wings- even for a fantastical movie vehicle. Maybe the main wings can retract into the main part of the car. A Fleckwing would be cool though! :woot:
