BvS The Batwing Thread

Those are in high-res from the ones he published this morning.

He promised Wonder Woman tomorrow in high res.

That huge gaping hole which is basically in the body of the aircraft kinda rubs me the wrong way (and I am wondering, wouldn't the air currents that pass there destabilize the aircraft?), but where there are actual parts on it, I do like it. :woot:

And I really want to see it from bellow, as it seems to have the shape of fat batsymbol.

It reminds me of a joined-wing or box wing configuration. I guess with fly-by-wire it could be made to work.

Haha, I for one actually like the design. But I have no idea what's going on.

Wouldn't that prevent the pilot from doing the crazy things with the aircraft though? Crazy things that would be necessary to do with the batwing.

And I am aware that I am over-analyzing the vehicle that will never actually fly for real nor it's meant to do so, but where else could I do something like that, if not here? :woot:

I do like it. But still, can't prevent myself from imagining it without that gap. I think I'd like it more without it.

It makes a whole lot more aerodynamic sense than Burton's design, and yes, even with that "hole" it would fly very well with the right guidance system.

It wouldn't need that.
The F117A stealth fighter is only able to fly at all because of it's computer aided guidance system. The straight lines and flat surfaces of the stealth design are not very aerodynamically efficient.
The Batwing could use a similar system if it needed to. Wayne could afford it.

I never actually thought about that when it comes to Burton's batwing, I suppose it's because I saw the film as a kid and I've grown accustomed to that shape from Burton's "Batman" and B:TAS, so I never actually questioned it... but now when I think about it, you're right.

When I posted that question, I was hoping for some professional opinion and it seems I got one, as I have an impression that you know quite a lot about the topic. Am I right?

I love the design, like most I'd have went with Batwing but maybe they wanted to remove themselves from the iconic vehicle or maybe there are plans to utilize Batwing the character going forward.

Maybe they don't actually refer to it by name in the movie.

I'm okay with the name 'Batjet'. Each incarnation has its own name. Batwing, The Bat, etc.

Call it the Batjet, bat-plane, batgyro, The Bat, etc I'm still calling it the Batwing.

Yup. Same here.

And like it was mentioned it probably won't even be referred by name in the film.

Wing, plane, jet, who cares? This thing kicks the living crap out of The Bat.

My only question is if it can hang like a bat.
