Man, with the Norman Bates one I thought it was just a picture and I had it sitting there as I was doing something in a smaller window when suddenly out of the corner of my eye he looked up at me! Nearly shat myself.That's a good list....that is freaking me out.
Here's one I've never seen mentioned in such discussions: The Zodiac in David Fincher's Zodiac. Never clearly seen or even defined as any one suspect, his presence nevertheless infests the film like a tumor.
Also, the Lake Berryessa attack is one of the most chilling physical assaults I've ever seen in a movie. It manages to be quirky, very darkly humorous, suspenseful, and finally just downright unnerving in its cold brutality.
