Best Movies of the year so far was aired last week, Here is the list.

United 93 (best film of the year so far)
Cars
A Prairie Home Companion
The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
Akeelah And The Bee
Thank You For Smoking
The Proposition
Tristram Shandy : A Cock And Bull Story
Game 6
Bubble

I need to see "Thank You For Smoking", what a cast; Robert Duvall, J.K. Simmons, William H. Macy, Sam Elliot.

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada is GREAT. It is already on DVD if anyone wants to check it out.

Thank You for smoking I need to see,I should of went to the theater to see it,but it comes out on dvd in October. I saw Bubble...it wasn't bad, most people won't like it.

A Prairie Home Companion... wow... a movie with Lindsay Lohan made the list. That seems to defy reality. But then, Kevin Kline is also in it, so it's probably pretty awesome.

Anyway, I really want to see "The Proposition." Is that out yet? I'd never even heard of it until I saw a preview of it on the DVD for "The Matador" the other day (GREAT movie, btw) and now I can't wait to check it out.

You do know that Robert Altman directed this film. It has nothing to do with Lohan or Kline...the movie is good because it is from one of the greats.

They spoke of Lindsay Lohan as being very good in this film and said she was talented.

Ebert is old granny and Roeper is a banana.

I'm definetely checking out Tristram Shandy: A Cock And Bull Story and Thank You for Smoking.

Yeah I know that, but I'm not a big fan of Altman's stuff. Not saying that he's bad, but he's not one of those directors whose movies I ever run out and see. And he has made some suckfests in his day (Dr. T and the Women? WTF?).

Well, despite what people want to believe, Lindsay actually does have talent.

MATCH POINT!!! say no more

When I saw that I couldn't believe it came from Woody Allen.

as in it's so much better than his other work?

Not necessarily. It just didn't feel like anything else he'd done. It was so tonally different, for one thing.

I'm not really a fan of Woody allen, sleeper was quite good, but match point just blew me away, I felt so much for the main character, It was like elements of my life made more interesting with extra artistic stuff and great acting and i need not continue, best cinema release so far this year for me.

Best movie ive seen all year is Inside Man.

i thought it was OK, there was a really bad bit where washington witnesses the 'execution' and then walks up to the door, but they actually pull him on a platform when filming so it just looks like he's floating, that was bad:( , it was an OK film overall, but there are much better ones released this year.

I haven't seen any films on that list but The Proposition and Thank You For Smoking are two I definitely want to see.

WHAT!? where is Basic Instinct 2, Fast And The Furious 3, POTC2, RV, Garfield 2 and that fish movie with Jojo? Clearly there is a conspiracy afoot here.

I really didn't like Bubble, and I didn't think it was acclaimed at all, surprising, otherwise I've only seen two of those movies so far, Prarie and Cars, which were both great.

I live in in the UK, we got it early this year, lol. And it is excellent, it was nominated for a bafta this year due to it's 2006 UK release, damn you americans getting movies first!
