Probably the Terminator. It was his first really iconic creation. But really, everything he did was incredible.

I voted Tyrannosaur for the poll. but hoenstly, Pumpkinhead. It was a chessy, over the top movie directed by Winston himself, but Pumpkinhead terrifyed me when I was younger.

Every single thing he touched turned into gold.

I'd say my favorite one is the Alien Queen with the Predator close behind.

Why no Pumpkinhead? I love that movie.

Honestly though, it's a tie with Alien, Terminator, and Predator.

Predator ftw. Such an awesome design and IMO the most convincing movie alien ever.

The Iron Man Mark III armor. :hehe:

I voted for the Predator.

Winston Studios does more than just practical effects. aside from effects, they also flesh out the creatures. Cameron probably had a good idea of what he wanted the Na'vi to look like, but Cameron's just one man. Winston Studios filled in the gaps that Cameron couldn't.

On second glance, the Navi themselves look very Winstonian, though none of the other animals on Pandora do. I still think that Winston's best work involved practical effects, and I'm kinda disappointed that now that he's gone, the days of major effects pieces like the Tyrannosaurus or men in suits like the Predator could be coming to an end.

How about Thriller?

that was Rick Baker

my vote goes to the T-800 with honorable mention going to the T-Rex and the Gill-Man from Monster Squad

This is a good thread, because all of his designs were different from each other and equally as impressive. Stan Winston was a genius talent--so sad he's gone.

Stan Winston loved the pumpkinhead designe. i think it belongs on the poll :yay:

i can not decide. Stan and hes team always did the best job even on low budget movies. the guy was a perfectionist.

Extremely tough, Winston had a track record like no other.

I'll have to go with the Predator. As much as I love all of his designs, the Predator looked so....real and organic. The alien skin didn't look like plastic, latex, or some type of half-assed design.

Not to mention he just looks ****ing cool, regardless.:word:

i wonder why it looked so alive? because of the texture? the dots? beacuse it looked wet? did they do any special tricks on the skin?

question, why has the name of his company been changed to Legacy Effects?

in an interview with G4 they said it was to "Honor Stan" but please explain to me how taking the mans name off of the company he built is an honor?

the most difficult was prob the t-rex.. but the most iconic was the endo-skeleton

because its hes legacy.

of course i think it would be better to use hes name. it would always reminds people about him.

T-800 for me. I love the design, one of film's most iconic villains.
