Which would you say was your favorite Summer? From 75-08, there will obviously be plenty of options.

For me I'm going to have to go with 2002
(Spider-Man, Star Wars Episode II, Undercover Brother, The Bourne Identity, Minority Report, Mr. Deeds, Men in Black II, Road to Perdition, Goldmember, Signs)

and (No surprise here) 2008
(Iron Man, Prince Caspian, Indiana Jones 4, The Incredible Hulk, Get Smart, Wall-E, Hellboy II, The Dark Knight, Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder)

2008 for me. I think that will probably be the consensus.

I forgot to add this in my original post, but if you could list what films you enjoyed in said Summer that would be great.

This has been my favourite summer

The Dark Knight was one of the best films I've ever seen

Iron Man was great
Incredible Hulk was solid
Indiana Jones could have been better but still Indy for 1st time in yrs

Caspian I enjoyed a lot, certainly more than the 1st one
Also Hellboy II & Wall E were worth a watch

Didn't see Hancock or Kung Fu Panda yet

Probably forgetting some

Yeah, 2008's probably the best summer for me overall.

From what I remember:

1999: Great fun at the movies. "Star Wars" fever, along with stuff like "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me". Granted, it was fun because I was 11 at the time, but still...

2005: "Revenge of the Sith" made the summer, and there were added bonuses like "Batman Begins".

2007: For the most part, this summer didn't have the greatest movies, but I had a hell of a lot of fun with stuff like "Spider-Man 3", "Pirates 3", and "Transformers".

2008: Come on. "The Dark Knight", "Iron Man", "Indy IV", "Incredible Hulk", "Tropic Thunder", etc. Need I say more?

2008 had the best summer movies imo, lol, or should i say ieo (in everyones opinion)
:)

2007 was fun with films like Spider-man 3 and Transformers. 2008 is pretty great too,but for some reason 1989 always comes to mind(Batman,Indy 3,Ghostbusters 2;etc).

2008 big time. The Dark Knight, Indy 4, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Speed Racer, Get Smart, Wanted, Tropic Thunder, Wall-E, Hellboy II, Pineapple Express and others. Such a good diversity of genres too. Bunch of action, bunch of comedy, great animation. Just something different and interesting to see each week, sometimes two movies a week. (I mean, I paid to see two movies together three times, once in two different theaters (Wall-E and Wanted)

2008. The Dark Knight, Indy 4, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy II. That right there is the best summer ever! I'll never forget it. Every movie I saw kicked ass and didn't let me down.

2008: Indiana Jones, The Dark Knight & Iron Man were all great. I have a feeling when I see TIH, Hellboy, Tropic Thunder & Wall.E it'll be even better.

2008 for me. I think that will probably be the consensus.

2008 but only because of the big three comic adaptations. Iron Man, Incredible Hulk and Dark Knight are outstanding films. Most everything else this summer was a disappointment at best and flat out crap at worst. Indy 4 & Speed Racer are offensively bad.

Summer of 1989: It was the summer Tim Burton's Batman made it's debut, and was it ever the 2nd coming of Bat-Mania. Throw in my anticipation for Ghostbusters II, and it was certainly a memorable summer indeed.

Summer of 1995: A summer that started out very solid indeed. First film I recall seeing during this timeframe was Die Hard with a Vengeance. Then came Batman Forever which had a huge opening weekend, and Judge Dredd which obviously bombed hard. This was also the summer in which films like Ed Wood and Clerks were first released on VHS, so I was obviously getting very well acqainted with B&W during this summer as well. :D

Summer of 1999: Well, the summer kicked off with the release of Star Wars Episode One, and then other films such as Deep Blue Sea, American Pie, Arlington Road, Blair Witch Project, and Austin Powers 2 made their way into theaters too.

Summer of 2003: What an awesome summer indeed. X2: X-Men United, The Matrix: Reloaded, Ang Lee's HULK, Tomb Raider 2: The Cradle of Life, Phonebooth, Freddy vs Jason ... and I'm sure I'm forgetting about a few more, but yeah .. this was most definately a memorable summer.

Summer of 2008: Obviously, The Dark Knight completely ruled this summer. But there were also great, and very solid efforts such as Iron Man, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy 2, Wanted, and Wall-E as well.

2008 was amazing and I honestly don't think it will ever be replicated again.

The Best Summer Movie Season?

I would definetly say summer is the best season for summer movies.

Oh, I see....

2005; War of the Worlds, Batman Begins, Revenge of the Sith, Fantastic Four...

1989 (yes): You had James Bond, the Ghostbusters, Lethal Weapon (2), Indiana Jones and presiding over it all was f***ing BATMAN

Summer of 89 sounded fantastic! Too bad I wasn't around yet.

I was really little but remember bat-mania in 1989 , that was awesome . I didn't get to see batman in theatres but got the vhs for xmas. I collected all the trading cards , toys , etc.

I would say 2008 is just an incredible year for movies. It seems like everybody is doing something this year. There were some dissapointments but nothing for me compared to
living in the hype of Batman all over again. It was also the best imax experience i ever had.

Also 2008 felt like a great mix of old school and new school. The new school of course where CGI is used to what I felt was a very good affect, and then the old school like The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones where old school stuntwork takes over (The truck flip, Indiana Jones swinging all over the warehouse. Forget the cgi and aliens, the stunts were still real) Where it felt like that for better or worse the directors where allowed free reign to give us the best they can do. I loved it.

QFT. Indy 4 kicked ass! A very worthy sequel to the other films. Deserves to stand along side them.
