Best Summer Season in the `2000s

Summer 2009 is over. It was also the last summer in the `00s. So, which summer was the best?

I really dont know by heart what month the movies are released. Some you can guess because of the budget.

Why are you picking such lame movies. You're making it sound like there are almost no good summer movies.

As examples I used some of the more successful movies. If you want smaller movies like (500) Days of Summer and Hurt Locker then I could provide that list. However, I highly doubt anyone thinks of those movies in association with summer. It's usually the big blockbusters.

I honestly didn't start paying that much attention to movies until like 2005. I'm a superhero film freak, ha ha, so 2008 gets my vote for the best summer of comic book films. But yea, i think 2008 gets my vote. summer 2009 sucked compared to last year, however there were a few good movies that came out, but not enough.

I agree about this previous summer season. Most of the good summer movies (Star Trek, Harry Potter 6) were pushed back from holiday 2008.

Summer 2008 by far. Dark Knight, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, Incredible Hulk, Hellboy, Tropic Thunder, Step Brothers & Wall.E were all great.

I guess summer 2005 would be next though I only liked Star Wars: ROTS & Batman Begins.

2008 and 2002 was really quite amazing. Of course, I was only twelve at the time for '02, and the fact that Spider-man and AOTC came out within two weeks of each other was mindboggling to me.

In hindsight, those movies weren't that great, but, to a twelve year old, it was magical.

I keep forgetting Star Trek was this summer it seemed earlier than that. This year was a let down because last year was so good.

You would think that on SHH you wouldn't forget to list the two Hulk films and Wolverine?

2008 was the best year simply BECAUSE of the great comic films.

2003 rates second because X2 was phenomenal and the first Pirates had charm (before the sequels went CGI crazy)

I would put Iron Man above anything 2007 had. I also enjoyed TIH more than a lot of the movies in '07, as well as Hellboy 2.

08 came up pretty close with Iron Man and TIH, but Spider-man was hyped up far higher than any of those

You liked SM3 more than TDK? It was a better movie and had tons more hype than SM3.

2008 and 2009 for me. 2008 had tons of good movies and 2009 was surprisingly excellent.

Hmm... i see.

I didnt mean that i liked SM3 more than TDK... its just that the whole hype and reference in pop culture was bigger than anything i have ever felt in my life.

TDK didnt have much hype in my country.. where i live, the Spider-man movies are extremely popular. SM3 is the highest grossing movie ever here. (Oh, it got knocked down by Revenge of the Fallen this year)

So... my vote went to 2007.
