2005 gets my vote, with ROTS and BB :woot:

2008.

Do I need to explain?

Not 2007 because all that year had was these huge disapointments and all of them but BU, was either terrible or a disapointment.

2006, not much other than POTC.

2005, Great year, ROTS, BB

2004, SM2, POA, I've grown to love it even more now

2003, POTC, Freaking ROTK

2002, Spider-Man, My introduction to LOTR, I'll never forget it.

The other years I was just too young back then. I went to see HP in 2001.

LOTR and HP all came out in winter.

I wouldn't say 2002 was the best, but it was definitely one of the most memorable. Spider-Man! Everyone was so hyped for that movie that it ended up being one of the best movie-going experiences. Audiences were so into seeing the first ever Spider-Man movie!

Indeed, I'll never forget that.

I was only 10 at the time. It came out a week after my birthday on May 3rd. I invited all of my friends and we had a party at my movie theater and we were going to see the film for the first time. I wore my extra large Spider-Man shirt that I bought a few months before. And it was so damn satisfying. I'll never forget when the film started I was just so hyped. Everyone saw it, we had a packed theater.

Then the day after my mom told me they were making the sequel and Doc Ock was going to be the villain. I was like that was fast! :wow:

2008. It had WALL-E, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Hellboy II, Tropic Thunder, and Pineapple Express, and Wanted (which was not as good a movie as the others, but was a lot of fun).

The Dark Knight was good too, but it's tainted in my mind by how overrated it is.

2002 for sure. Just because of Spider-Man. I'll never forget how excited I was about that movie.

2009 is gonna be pretty bare, but by no means the worst. How could a year that gives us Trek, Terminator and Transformers be bad?

2006 was the worst. Crapfest. 2008 was the best... IMO

I can defnitely agree with that. Superman Returns was probably the best. Which is... disappointing to say the least.

'06 has one of my favourites ('Mission: Impossible III'), '07 is probably the worst year for utter disappointments and '08 was probably the best. I can only pick out particular movies from past years that I consider good, while the rest are just junk.

Only the month of May. :cwink: But seriously...2001 was terrible. You guys are crazy. 2001 being the worse is the one thing we should all agree on.

Just look at that list:
Mummy Returns
Shrek
Pearl Harbor
Sword Fish
Tomb Raider
Fast and the Furious
A.I.
Cats & Dogs
Legally Blonde
Jurassic Park III
Planet of the Apes
Rush Hour 2
American Pie 2

Only Shrek was good.

I'm going to say 2008 because of how many movies there were that was anticipated. A close second for me would be 2004 because I loved that summer and saw my first midnight showing of any movie (it was an employee showing at a movie theater I worked at for Spider-Man 2). My third choice would be 2005 because of BB and ROTS.

But... I was smart enough to steer far away from movie theatres that year. Instead, I stuck with renting and buying VHS/DVDs... and (I must say) it was a good choice on my part. 2007 disappointed me the most because I actually spent money on seeing those overhyped/overrated movies. I guess I liked 'Ratatouille' the best that summer, but it's still a very slim decision.

2000 had a great summer too, but 2004 is better.

2007 was utter s**t, except for Bourne 3.

2008 was good. Tropic Thunder, Iron Man and that Batman movie that a wee bit overrated. On the other hand Hellboy 2 was a disappointing trainwreck.

2001 was good when I was a teenager, now? Fun but useless.

2002 was awesome because of Signs and Spider-Man.

2003 was disappointing because the Matrix sequel sucked and so did Finding Nemo but Pirates was good.

2004 was awesome because of Spidey 2 and HellBoy

2005 was lame. Batman Begins wasn't anywhere near good enough to save that year or anyother year.

2006 sucked. Although I kinda liked Pirates 2, it wasn't as good as the first one and Superman Returns was as lame and disappointing as advertised.

Did I forget to mention how hard 2007 sucked.

Looking forward to seeing a few in 2009 but it doesn't look like it's going to be the greatest year.

I voted for 2002 by the way.

2000 had a great summer too

2000 was awesome, but I think most people have forgotten about those movies. Gladiator, Mission: Impossible II, Me Myself and Irene, Scary Movie, and Bring It On don't get that much discussion anymore.

Signs?

2000 had Xmen, Gladiator, Mission Impossible 2, Scary Movie, The Perfect Storm, What Lies Beneath, The Patriot...so many good ones.

Signs is a brilliant film. Better than The Sixth Sense.
