Meanwhile, Nolan made his Gotham so bright you wondered if you should be calling it Gotham. I appreciate the realism aspect but it looked too much like a realistic city and not enough like Gotham City. Burton's Gotham looked like a city that really needs saving.

And the sight of Joe Chill gunning down Bruce's parents in a cold, darkened alley doesn't?

Good point. I think Nolan left the feel of darkness to Gothams public instead of imposing it on the city itself.
But I'd still rather of had a more dramatic Gotham :)

I liked the look of Burton's, but the problem was it looked like it was shot inside of a Wal-Mart store - we saw the same thing over and over again.

It does. But I think the emphasis was stronger in B89, with the sight of the husband, wife, and son being mugged, the prostitute, as well as the overall look of the city. It just screamed dirty, even during the day.

Nolan's because it felt like a real city. The Narrows was a bit Blade Runner-y but that was cool. Looked like a slum should.

I voted for Christopher Nolan's vision of Gotham City. His Gotham looked like a big city you can see any day while Burton and Schumacher made their Gotham look fake.

I would have liked Nolan's more if he had gone further in that Blade Runner direction. Honestly, real cities have more personality to them than Nolan's did.

Blade Runner city was everything but real.

Depends, the cityscape itself was definatly a sci-fi landscape. But a good deal of the movie itself was shot on location across LA. They just shot it well and chose good locations.
