Shazam The Billy Batson/Shazam casting thread

lol John Krasinski looks nothing like Shazam. His features are way too unique..

at this point I don't even know that Krasinksi would pull it off

I used to love him for the role.. he has a knack for comedy, but i don't know that he could pull off the immaturity and naivety necessary for the role

McElhenney however, would nail it and he looks more like classic depictions of the character

It's right up his alley. Ten season of The Office confirm it. But he can play it commanding and serious when he needs to (he's very good in 13 Hours).

McElhenney however, would nail it and he looks more like classic depictions of the character

I must've missed all of those comics where Captain Marvel couldn't reach the top shelf. Plus, McElhenney kinda looks like Seth MacFarlane.

I still don't think Krasinksi looks the part. No matter though, neither do Ezra or Momoa so

McElhenney is simply a better choice, height disadvantage aside. I've seen every episode of the office and I'm not convinced Krasinksi can play a convincing little kid

Nope. I just like my comic book adaptations to look, feel and act like the comic books they're based on. I can't help it if you want someone who isn't allowed on rollercoasters as Captain freakin' Marvel.

I'm positive you have never seen McElhenney act, his role on Always Sunny shows he could easily do Shazam.

I have. And, in any case, his acting chops weren't in question. But you can't cast a guy as Captain Marvel when even The Flash towers over him. It's kinda sad.

I like the idea of Krasiniski. If Ryan Hurst cleaned up his hair, I think he would work. I don't see him cleaning up his hair anytime soon though. Or Enver Gjokaj. Jake Gyllenhaal could do it, but I don't think he will.

It would probably be too complicated but the idea of The Rock playing both parts, with the idea being the wizard gave both Teth Adam and Billy Batson the ability to turn into the same champion, intrigues me. Improbable as it may be.

Might've been suggested already but my vote goes to Clive Standen, AKA Rollo from Vikings. Not as big a resume as Hammer but is slowly getting his name out there. He'll be replacing Liam Neeson in NBC's Taken spin-off series. Only problem is if he can pull off the american accent.

How about Jacob Tremblay from Room as Billy Batson? He's a little on the younger side (only nine years old), but he put in a good performance in Room.

Jacob would be great. I suspect Clive Standen to get name dropped a lot because he is big and can act instead of one or the other.

I still like the idea of Krasniqi. Kras could really pull it off face it he had the comedic chops to go toe to toe verbally with the Rock and it could be a lot of fun banter wise, if they get it right, plus I know the Rock is huge and no one wants Shazam to look minute next to him, but the Rock can slim down, he doesn't have to look pain and gain monster sized, nor does he even have to be FF big, I mean he pretty much made Vin look tiny and that aint easy to do.... just food for thought.

I always liked Michael Copon for the role. Channing Tatum and Kellan Lutz are choices I wouldn't mind. Actually, the more I think about it, Lutz is my new top choice.
