The Bourne Legacy - Part 1

If Damon AND Greengrass came back:

Definitely. I think this whole Renner period is just a silly place holder Universal is putting out until Damon and Greengrass get their stuff toghether on how they want to continue the series.

To me these movies are pretty much the Tokyo Drifts of the series until we get the main guy/cast back like in F&F part 4, as an analogy.

Bourne Tokyo Drift nailed it:up:

I do like Bourne, I love it in fact but I did like the fact the series was complete his arc was finished with Ultimatum I never felt the need for them to do more but I suppose the $ talks and if it makes money and enough people want a sequel its always going to happen, thats the trouble when a series is successful it never really ends, it gets dragged out and feels forced and you end up with rubbish ones.

I guess Studios want it that way, Bond like series that last forever to keep churning out the turnover.

Ah well maybe the next Renner one will be better.

What if they end up with Damon coming back and they turn it into a prequel of sorts and showing Bourne's training and all. I would not be suprised.

Damon's too old to pull off a prequel Bourne. The only way I see them bringing him back is if Cross and Bourne end up crossing (no pun intended) paths somehow.

Yeah you're probably right, he looks very different now then he did in Identity.

I still haven't seen Legacy yet because of the lack of Bourne...

Whatever training that Bourne had, we had enough hinted at with the first three movies. Showing it as a full movie is just pointless.

I like Renner as an actor but the last film was a let-down, especially compared to the 1st 3, they will really need to up their game with this one.

Yes I know. But with the trend of everything being a remake/reboot/prequel these days you never know. Not that I would want something like that though.

The most expensive Bourne film made the least amount of money. That should tell them something.

Yeah I was pretty surprised at that, makes you wonder where all that money went to:huh:

I know the first three were successfull but did they really think a film with a new actor, not a massive name, from a trilogy that was pretty rounded off was going to warrant spending more money on than the first three, it was never going to be as popular even if everyone thought it was excellent, it wasnt going to be bigger than Ultimatum, no way?? Seems very odd to me.

Everything just costs more now than it did back when the other 3 were made. Hence the higher budget. It'd be a fun twist if Aaron Cross was doing the bad guys bidding without knowing and the final confrontation is with Jason Bourne and Bourne kills him. I normally would say Damon is way too old for these movies but man he is ripped in Elysium

Cant he kill him at the start of the movie:woot:

I hate the fourth movie because it undoes everything from the end of the third movie. The ending was terrible and was a total non-ending. The movie essentially has no third act.

Heh. I guess after Elysium did so-so at the box office, Matt had a change of heart.

Regardless of that though, Damon returning is the ONLY thing that would make me go see another Bourne movie. Legacy was kind of a waste of time.

That sucks for Renner. He was supposed to take over both Mission Impossible & Bourne. But with Tom Cruise continuing on with Mission Impossible & now Matt Damon maybe coming back as Bourne. But with Bourne I think both could co exist

Well, at least he has the Hawkeye franchise to fall back on!

Oh, wait...
