Tron Legacy - v2.0

Jeff Bridges Ready and Willing to Do Tron 2

Rumors of a Tron sequel have been teasing fans of the early '80s classic for years. Tron 2.0 was one version, but that ended up becoming a videogame. Now Flynn himself, Jeff Bridges, has confirmed that he is ready to entertain an offer, which he expects to come by his office soon.
"I heard they're going to pitch me one pretty soon," said Bridges. "I hear they're going to make a sequel. I'm always curious to hear what they're going to say. I haven't heard [the idea yet]."

Nearly 30 years later, a new Tron would have to find the cutting edge of 21st-century technology, since the original was outdated shortly after its release. "The reasons to do it, and the reason I did that one, was because it was so innovative -- and I understand they've got a whole new batch of stuff like that that, innovations that they want to use on that, so that could be kind of fun."

The older and wiser Bridges is prepared to suffer for a Tron sequel, as many of the visual affects apparatuses have not changed much. "Wearing a dance belt...I know you ladies wear thongs, and a dance belt is kind of like our version of the thong and it's a terrible thing, man. You can't sit down. Then I've got tights."

First Tron Movie

To be honest I was meh on TDK's score. I honestly felt that it was one of Zimmer's weaker works so I wasn't too hurt by that. It wasn't bad, but Zimmer's done much better.

Each to their own, for me its one of his best scores, if not THE best. Why so serious is on its own amazing.

That said i'm a big Batman fan so i'm probably biased, but i know alot of people thought the same thing (about it being disqualified) at the 2009 Oscars announcement.

Man sucks the new post cap now. But continuing stuff from old thread sucks they didn't get any good noms.

I really hope that some sort of special edition is announced for Legacy. I would so pay for a super-duper-edition that glows in the dark. Anyone with me?

It is pretty ubber cool that they're packaging them together like that. I wasn't going to pick up T:L until later, but might just day one it, especially if Disney gives out the usual $8 coupon for their new releases.

Watched it one more time today. Olivia Wilde is my new crush.

And yes, I like the movie, the story is very simple and has a lot of plot holes but the idea behind the "reaching perfectness" was good.

Plus the music, visuals and Olivia Wilde made the movie.

I've always liked the Gladiator soundtrack, Ive never heard the Backdraft soundtrack though i much prefer the Dark Knight's scove over Begins, it just feels more epic. That said the car chase theme is wonderful I forget what it's called as they were all types of bat but i think its 'molossus')

Slightly OT question: with 3D blu ray releases can you watch them in both standard and 3D formats?

What happens if you put a 3d Blu ray in your Blu ray player but you dont have a Blu Ray TV? I'm certain it wont be 3d but what would you get?

Probably nothing

I wish the Blu Ray cover was better especially if the UK one is the exact same as US one

ya we dont know for sure, but if the video sells like hotcakes i would say its a go.

The soundtrack and toys have been selling through the roof I hope that incites people to buy the DVD/Blu Ray.

I think the sequel is still defintely possible at this point.

I want Tron3 with Cillian Murphy so damn bad...

the soudtrack will never have any effect on future sequels. never.

ok toys and blu-ray is possible .

It still money towards the franchise. It adds up.

Saying it won't affect towards its earning is absurd. Will it make an impact probably not is rather the answer to get real technical. The legitimate music market obviously isn't the place where Disney plans on getting all its money back.

Toys and blu-rays as I mentioned do. Either way the fact that the soundtrack performed well means there is at least some aspect of interest towards the franchise which means that people might expand on to other markets in relation to the brand. Buying Blurays and toys along with the video game (which is crap and probably not really selling but still making something). Either way we'll see but I defintely see more signs towards a sequel than not as ardent you may be about there being one or not.

I choose to remain positive towards something I enjoyed.
