I caught this on TV this evening for the first time in years and I must say, it is incredibly ahead of its time. Movies like 21 Jump Street, Baywatch, and really the whole sub genre of meta comedic takes on yesterday's pop culture that has popped up in recent years, throughout pop culture, ranging from internet satire to shows like community were all best to the punch by decades by this movie. Not to mention Gary Cole is fantastic in it.

Yes, yes, and yes. This is on TV a couple times a year, and I try to catch it more often than not. It's hilarious and the entire cast is spot on. The sequel is less successful in terms of plot, but still very funny and worth watching.

A Very Brady Sequel, yeah. It actually addresses a lot of weird plot points and gets a little raunchier. It also makes them out to not be as naive as they appear.

If there was an Oscar for comedy acting Gary Cole would have won for this hands down.

Haven't seen it - or the sequel - for years, but yes they're both hilarious!

I think it's underrated. But like Milk Tray Guy, I haven't seen in a while. It should be on Netflix, which has the amazing power of discovering new audiences - that happened with Twin Peaks (the original show) and the Addams Family movies.

I kind of want to see this concept of plucking characters out of their show, exactly as they were, and dropping them into the present day used again, and the one show that I think would really succeed at it is Saved by the Bell, just for the fact that every episode of that show had already dated itself by the time the end credits rolled.

Christopher Daniel Barnes (Greg Brady) is the best Peter Parker Spider-Man.
He did the voice on the original 90s animated series.

He would have been an Amazing live action Spidey.

Pigs can fly. I agree with Matt. Both were ahead of their time and great films with a great cast. 100% agree with this post.

I liked how they had all but the exception of original Mike and original Jan having cameos in the movie.

I have always liked both films a lot and think the writing and acting of the whole cast is spot on with a spotlight shout out to of course Gary Cole as Mr. Brady but also Taylor and Barnes as Marcia and Greg.

Frankly... Lots of films made purely to cash in on nostalgia could learn from both those movies. Unfortunately for some fans many of the old franchises or TV shows or films beloved from childhood can only be realized today as caricatures of themselves. So many never had any meaty or interesting core themes or subtext, characters may be inherently flat ect. Also some are just so whimsical in their original form that bringing them into the modern day with modern audience's expectations of character development and plot structure, that you would automatically take some of the shine off of the properties. With the Brady film style angle you can have your cake and eat it too. Both celebrating and sending up the classic property.

So wrong but so funny.

The actor playing Greg was also the voice actor for Spidey in the 90's animated series.
