Riddle #51:

13 people came into a hotel with 12 rooms and everybody wanted his own room. The bellboy solved this problem.
He asked the thirteenth guest to wait a moment with the first guest in room number 1. So in the first room there were two people. The bellboy took the third guest to room number 2, the fourth to number 3, ... and the twelfth guest to room number 11. Then he returned to room number 1 and took the thirteenth guest to empty room number 12.

How can everybody have his own room?

Jed lived alone and he preferred it that way. He never had any visitors, and he never visited anyone. Since he never left his house, it was necessary to have his supplies delivered every week. One dark and stormy night, Jed lost control of his senses, turned off all the lights, and went to sleep. The next morning, it was discovered his actions resulted in the deaths of several people. Why?

R1: 2 (one goes later to room 13) r2:1 r3:1 R4:1 r5:1 r6:1 r7:1 R8:1 r9:1 r10:1 r11:1 =12 people... you fail to acomodate one else...
the thirtest guest is not in the room1, there are guests 1 and 2.

That's pretty much it. The second room should have gone to the second guest because the 13th guest was waiting in room 1.
