Drama The Breakfast Club II

Not really. The original wasn't that good either.

Wash your mouth with soap young man! :p

A remake would be LAME, I could see a sequel but the chances of it surpassing or even equaling the awesomeness of the original are very slim:(

Someone post recent photos of the actors and this thread and than tell me if a sequel should be made... I will let you decide

John Hughes regarding a sequel for The Breakfast Club (as of 1999): "I know everybody would love to watch it. But I'm too fond of those characters," Hughes said. "I thought about it. I could do it in prose. I know what will happen to them. I know them. But to do it with real actors - with Molly and Judd and Ally - they'd never come back together again. There's no excuse that could ever put them in the same room ever again. There isn't anything in their lives after high school relevant to that day...It's like Ferris Bueller. You don't want to see him today. You'd hate him. He'd either be a bum or a politician."

A forgotten sequel? :woot:

(Got those/the idea from another forum.)

Guys you nearly gave me a heart attack over this! This thread is misleading

Well instead of making a new thread, it’s more fun to resurrect an older one with the history behind it. Especially since this is the closest we’ve come to an actual reunion in 40 years.

Besides, if St Elmo’s Fire is getting a sequel, 10 bucks says they announce a sequel to this after their reunion lol

I didn't even realize Estevez has been the holdout all these years. Even when they reunited for a tribute to John Hughes he wasn't there. What's the deal with that?

Emelioooooo

I only learned recently that a lot of them resented the “Brat Pack” name and they felt it severely hindered their careers in anything not somewhat connected to the John Hughes movies. I guess that probably has something to do with Emilio’s reluctance to reunite with the others. Although maybe there was also some bad blood there towards him… I remember he hosted SNL in the 90s and made some really crude jokes about the other cast members.

Yeah, he’s definitely mellowed with that association in recent years (maybe helps that he’s more a director now than an actor).

He even did an interview for that Brat Pack doc.
