The Brood Queen Wave

I still say it's impossible that those pics were fake...the Brood Queen anyway

LOL....SOme folks on the action-figure boards posted the HML4 list from Wiki and now they thing that they are actually getting them....They think that Corsair is in there...Hee HEeee

Jin Santome confirmed the Black Knight over on Action-figure....he said that Jesse thought it was pretty funny that Jin did his How To Custom for Black Knight right before they make an official Black Knight figure/

thus why customs can be pretty dumb at times... when you spend so much time and technically money 2 (cuz your usually tearing up several figs) and then a few months later the real fig is made.. and you wasted your time

thats why i'd only do customs if its for slight modifications, or figures you know you probably wont ever see made ( like im pretty confidant we wont be seeing the YA in there modern costumes for a very long time, if ever)

It boils down to skills. If you have the skills and can make a figure that you've been waiting for go for it. If and whne it comes out it probably won't have the quality of a skillfully made custom. But if you don't have the skill to pull it off (like most) then yeah, its sort of a waste.

But I've seen plenty of guys make a custom of a figure before we find out its comig out and their figure looks better anyway. So its a toss up.

ya, but very rarely do i see a custom that kicks ass to that point... biggest thing for me is the paint.. the paints gotta still make it look like an action figure... and not like u tossed acrylic paint on it...

and other stuff i just dont like... like i love the one guys base for annihilus.. thats amazing, but can't stand his venom/spider-man base and fig... i didnt find that as impressive

Its not about what you think. Why won't you get that?? Its about what one thinks of their own custom.

I liked the Spidey Defeated base...it was cool looking

i know.. but thats really hard for me to understand, being an artist... i know art is in the eye of the beholder.. but from my standpoint and being in the industry.. i know very well that art is usually psychologically judged upon "whether i could do it or not" if you see art that you know you can't do... 9 times out of 10, you will say you loved it.. its human nature.. and i've noticed that out here in LA, you can get payed $200 for a flick of the wrist at designing a poster or character... and your getting it because the person thinks its amazing and can't do it himself. Does it make it good? no.. to me a custom has too look as close as it can to the real thing, have a sub par paint job.. and detail detail detail... and it depends on the way it makes me feel.. like all art.. if i look at it and like the composition, and the way it makes me feel.. or my attraction to it thats when i know i like it, but this is coming from an artist point of view

i dont see why he went through all that trouble of customing a wrestler for spidey though... that seemed like a waist... when theres a million in a half spideys from figs to lil stupid things running around

He made a whole new Spidey for It? Well that was dumb.....I didn't like his Venom either...It was SS Venom...with no Torso joint...it was dumb

Uh, maybe because thats just what he wanted to do?? Maybe he felt like testing himself?? Maybe he just wanted a project to help better his skills??

For f***s sake.

.... im not takin anything seriously... im just stating what is automatic in my head when it comes to anything artistic.. thats what lets me decide what busts i buy, posters i hang on my wall, what art i buy, what photo's i like, what art i make myself, what comic covers i save on my pictures file... why i like some cinematography in some movies... etc...

and i think i was really spot on about why people usually like what they do... with the "i can't do it myself" factor... i've seen it be that case many a times, hell look in the spidey or X-men manip threads.. half of the stuff is getting praised when it looks like utter garbage that a beginer could do with photoshop

i'm hoping your just playing around and not seriously getting pissed off.. because im quite calm at the moment... people can do what they want to do.. thats fine.. but if you post it out for the world to see prepare to be judged, its a part of life. and we've already seen he has great skills.. he did the annihilus base amazingly.. but i'm allowed to not like his venom and base if i don't want to... lol now look who's coming off serious?

And thats probably what those people are. Beginners. Quit expecting everyone to be well versed in everything they do.
