It's not his fault the studio wanted more Batman than Superman and if you look at what is cut it is all the stuff that made Superman look better in this movie.

Yup, cut Superman saving people in Africa by stopping the missile and helping people after the bombing and cut the part out where its revealed the wheelchair was lined with lead.

I'll never understand the logic behind cutting down the movie for more showings

The LOTR movies and Titanic did just fine with their even longer runtimes. I get that shorter movie = more showings, but thats assuming that you have nearly sold-out theaters, which doesn't happen in a lot of the bigger theaters except maybe opening weekend. Furthermore, if cutting it down ruins your movie, that means negative reviews and buzz, which in turn means less people going to see your movie. I think it would've been better off releasing this version in theaters initially(making the necessary cuts however to make it pg-13)

You are just thinking about sold out theaters in US, the movie was released same day world-wide, in many countries you cannot "book" a ticket more than 3 days in advance.

WB would have been best served if they knew they wanted a shorter runtime and wrote a script that matched that need in the first place. It shows a huge lack of respect for the filmmakers and the audience if they said at the front, "well let's just shoot the 3 hour long script; if we need to, we'll just cut it down."

2 hours 30 minutes run-time seems to be the maximum limit WB has fixed for DC movies, other directors better keep that in mind while making the movies and try to write script accordingly.

Actually, wasn't Dark Knight Rises 2hr 45 min? That was a LONG movie. But I'm sure Nolan's clout is what allowed him to do that.

Having watched half of this Ultimate Edition, I don't want any Superman fans to say that Zack Snyder only loves Batman because, thematically, Snyder puts Bat's methods under a serious microscope. This might, just might, be one of the more ultimate examinations of Batman in this picture.

The other thought; the manipulation of Lex Luthor on both combatants is felt more in this cut.

From what I understood WB had given Snyder green light to produce a 3'hour cut and then they freaked out, for some reason.

Any word on what made it R rated?

A little more sensuality, more language, more blood, and frankly, the tone of the picture is more adult. This is an adult drama that just happens to have Batman and Superman in it...

Aside from 4K Blu-ray, anyone know what 4K Ultra HD options will be available for buying, streaming, or downloading this new cut?

I've gotten a few 4K movies on VUDU recently, but it doesn't seem like BvS will be available in 4K on there, at least not right away.

Oh man...the sequence after the Capitol bombing is going to piss off Superman fans because it's what they've been screaming for...

I have zero interest in watching this in SD on a computer. I'll gladly wait two more weeks.

Good to know Snyder doesn't get Superman...

They really should have never cut out any scenes of Superman helping/saving anyone.

So, reading between the lines here, it seems like, for whatever reason, this movie was trimmed down to be Bat centric. Maybe that also explains why the final trailer was Bat centric, too. This version really is "The Superman cut."

No. It's Batman v Superman by way of Lex Luthor Cut.

It's an even film, no matter how you slice it now. In their own way, both characters have beef with each other. Superman's beef is more legitimate than Batman's.

This cut is Pa Kent's fear come true from Man of Steel.

The manipulation of Lex Luthor in this cut is fantastic. Once again, WB gets villains right.
