As much as they are nice to look at. I'd rather have a cake with traditional cake, and just frosting. None of that layer stuff.

There is sometimes a cake tasting. So you can pick out the flavor of cake, frosting, etc. Obviously depending on where you have your wedding, they don't just say here's your cake.
