The Cape and No Ordinary Family

Not one, but TWO live action prime time super hero dramas are coming to TV this fall and there isn't a thread for it? Now that's shocking.

So, what does everyone think about what we've seen so far?

Doubt Cape last 1 season and No Ordinary Family got bad reviews at the con, fans weren't impressed with it

It did? I thought the trailer looked decent, but then again, it's just a trailer. That's a shame.

But really, I doubt something as cheesy looking as The Cape will last too long.

No Ordinary Family could possibly fill the hole Heroes cancellation left behind. I can't wait, when does it start?

I doubt NOF will fill the role that Heroes left. But I think it will make it further than The Cape. Even though I love Summer Glau, totally not interested in that show.

But really, I doubt something as cheesy looking as The Cape will last too long.

I have apprehensions about The Cape, but not in regards to how cheesy it looks. I'm worried about how generic the plot seems. Everything in the trailer just seemed to hit every note we've seen in every action/super hero show in the past 20 years. The cheesiness I don't think will be a problem with the writing and acting is good. I mean, honestly, it didn't look especially cheesy to me, anyway. It wasn't the darkest and grittiest of true crime drama, but nothing seemed especially over the top of silly compared to some things I've seen on TV. Plus, the silliness we saw in the trailer looks like the kind of stuff that might flow better when not condensed into a trailer.

That being said, I still have serious worries about the show being anything other than meh. And I call it a worry because I really want these shows to be successful, so we might see more people playing with super hero concepts on TV.
