THE CINEMA LOUNGE

Rachel Zegler can act circles around Sydney Sweeney. She was good in a few episodes of Euphoria but beyond that she's overrated as hell.

Rachel Zegler, Brie Larson, and Anna Gunn immediately come to mind.

There's also Zendaya, Halle Bailey, Jennifer Lawrence, Anna Hathaway, and Jenna Ortega, but I don't know how long those lasted.

I would go so far as to say Awkwafina only because I've seen her potential as a serious actress with The Farewell. I wish she kept doing those indie films.

Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, and Jenna are still getting hated on. Awkwafina allows herself to get typecast at Disney and Marvel as the comic relief.

I love most of Tarantino's films but his head has always been firmly up his own ass. Choosing not to watch back to back Oscar nominated films because David Lynch's Dune exists is insane.

I do have to wonder how studios choose what does and doesn't get an anniversary theatrical rerelease. Jaws for the 50th? No question. Casper for its 30th? Sure. 40 Year Old Virgin for its 20th? Um, sure I guess. Trainwreck for its 10th anniversary? Nothing against that movie but a theatrical rerelease is a little ridiculous.

I was trying to remember why I haven't heard of this movie when Bill Hader is in it... Then I saw her.

Eh, it still kinda annoys me this masterpiece didn’t get the mainstream love it needed. This not being nominated for anything was a damn disgrace. To keep it honest, I’ve never seen modern Hitchcock done so well, while being original.

Also, this is TMI, but this is what certain corners of the internet are for, beautiful anonymous. In my youth very early had a dumb young love with a Japanese/canadian gal. It lasted about 3 months. Nothing more, but the ending of this film for whatever reason made me ache in the hope of looking her up and seeing she is ok, nothing would make me happier, but so far no luck. Hadn’t really thought about her in yeeeeeears! Till this damn movie. Twist the knife right into me.

Waited a year for Baby Assassins 3. It did not disappoint. Now, the wait for the tv show.

Very excited that Venice Film Festival is kicking off - lots of anticipated debuts here. So far, Begonia and Jay Kelly are out, and the receptions are about what I expected. Excited to see Begonia, and would love Sandler to finally get an Oscar nod for Jay Kelly
