I'm happy to see her back.
Out of everything we've seen in Phase-4 Shang-Chi is easily one of the biggest bright spots. Not moving forward with a sequel would be a big mistake.Shang-Chi 2 is in development. Even with Marvel being in a state of disarray they're not going to abandon a sequel featuring their most successful post-Phase 3 new character. The first movie was embraced by plenty of audiences outside of China.
I think Musk, whether he realizes it or not, is spiraling and wants any attention or publicity he can get. I don't see Iger stooping to his level any time soon. Will the Musk vs Iger fight amount to anything more than posturing?
For the record, Hardy as Venom would also probably be a bigger deal showing up in a major role in a crossover at this point than any of the supporting fox X-Men.Idk, guess I'm not in tune with where "the kids" go to talk comic movies, the conversations I saw certainly did treat Garfield as secondary "Holy s*** Tobey's coming back! And probably Garfield too"
And that TASM 2 still outgrossed the x-films is an issue with the Fox x-men movies imo. Y'all talking about the X-men like they're some c-listers compared to Spidey, despite the x-comics being the top sellers for decades, and still regularly being in the top 10 ever since.
His second film grossed less than the first, so Sony pulled that trigger [too] quickly on the Marvel deal, but based off the Venoms and all the other crap they push out I doubt a part 3 would've been any better
but again, I'm not a spidey fan so what do I know
The Chad Venom vs The Virgin Deadpool. I like Deadpool fine but Venom is, so much better and funnier as a comedic superhero franchise. Hardy's Eddie/Venom is an infinitely better, funnier performance than Reynolds.I would throw Deadpool 3 into the trash immediately if it meant I could have this.
From recent movies, I'd delete Batman v Superman and Rise of Skywalker.Couldn't disagree more lol
If I had a delete button on any movie, those Venom movies would be the first ones I would select.
The good news is we'll probably seeing the last of them this upcoming year, at least in terms of solo flicks. After this year's box office I don't see them not flopping royally, and that includes Venom 3.Yeah I certainly understand why people like Hardy’s performance but on the whole I think we'd be better off deleting the entire line of “Spider-man movies without Spider-man” out of existence. Apologies to people who enjoy the Venom movies as I know you're out there

For me Venom just needs to keep that amazing voice and I’ll turn up for any amount of films. Won’t even need a plot or any other characters or events. Just him reading a bunch of stupid **** or thinking aloud to himself for 2 hours would be more than enough.I agree. Madam Web looks like a perfectly fine, generic, standard-issue superhero flick and I'm sure I'll enjoy it just fine on streaming. And I'd watch Aaron Taylor-Johnson in just about anything so I'm sure I'll enjoy Kraven as well. However, I seriously doubt either one of them would have set the box office on fire, even in pre-pandemic conditions. With the current state of the marketplace, they both have even more headwinds stacked against them...
As for Venom, I also agree that its best days are probably behind it as a franchise. They already blew their motherlode with Carnage so it will take some pretty serious guest stars for the third film to get anywhere near the $200 million gross of the two previous Venom flicks...
And if The Marvels has taught us anything, it's that a franchise can go from a $1 billion dollar gross to less than $200 million worldwide in our current lean, mean, market conditions. Past box office success is no long any kind of barometer for future performance, not that it ever really was...
Joaquin’s performance was awesome in the first film but otherwise I wasn’t interested in seeing more of Joker or even rewatching the film at all.Madame Web looks like hot garbage and I predict will be the year’s biggest flop and it really vexes me because the idea of a female led team of spider-powered individuals could be amazing but it looks like they just completely s*** the bed with it. And then we’re going to get countless click bait “think pieces” on the internet on if female led super hero movies work. 🙄
Kraven will probably be 2024’s Morbius and be a meme goldmine which might ironically help its box office but its also going to flop massively.
Venom 3 i have no idea, could go either way. I feel like the audience will have grown tired of the schtick though.
Joker 2 is going to explode or implode based on Gaga’s performance (i think she is going to absolutely slay it though) and DP 3 will def be the biggest winner of the year.
Couldn't disagree more lol

Hardy is many times the performer Reynolds is on literally every level. There’s just no comparison. Not that Reynolds sucks but the gap is huge.Wade’s s***-talking is a perpetually ruined by Reynold’s try-hard “I think I’m hilarious” deliveries. He is terminally unfunny to me, and always has been.
Tom Hardy, meanwhile, is genuinely hilarious to me and just wildly fun to watch as a performer. So while the Deadpool movies are technically better-written and better-crafted movies, I’ll always enjoy the Venom flicks more. That’s the power of a charismatic lead, I guess.
Grown tired of the schtick after two movies that were both successes? That's a weird conclusion to draw.Venom 3 i have no idea, could go either way. I feel like the audience will have grown tired of the schtick though.
Ditching the wig was their one misstep!!Hardy and the Venom movies definitely have their moments. I just would’ve respected them more if they had the guts to keep Woody in that wig.

But Sony gonna Sony.
I agree 100%. I think people are increasingly grown tired of generic low quality superhero films and it's going to affect Sony's film a lot. Venom 3, like you said, doesn't have Carnage or any other major character appearing and it's made by a first time director this time around. Also let's not forget that Venom 2 while it did great in the US, it literally lost half the audience in the rest of the world. The first film grossed 600 million overseas, while the second 300. I don't see how this trend won't continue at a time where all DCEU and half the MCU movies are flopping hard.I agree. Interesting. I think between Kraven and Madame Web, the latter has a tad more chances at the box office because it has more spider characters and references and it's not rated R. Also it's coming first so by the time Kraven is being released audiences will be even more tired of that universe. But I definitely think it's a toss between those two. Same for worst reviewed superhero film next year.Madame Web looks like hot garbage and I predict will be the year’s biggest flop and it really vexes me because the idea of a female led team of spider-powered individuals could be amazing but it looks like they just completely s*** the bed with it. Let there Be Carnage didn't lose half of its international audience because of disinterest, it lost half its audience because the movie wasn't released in their country. The first film grossed $269M in China alone, which almost entirely accounts for that huge drop off since the second film didn't get that China release.I agree 100%. It’s a little worrying as it shows a lack of understanding of why this stuff works. Imagine they made Venom more serious. 🤯Hardy and the Venom movies definitely have their moments. I just would’ve respected them more if they had the guts to keep Woody in that wig.
