Well, I don't remember getting goosebumps while seeing that, but I agree it is truly a fantastic homage, both to Reeve, Donner, and the previous entries in general. Nice move, Mr. Singer!Superman's final flight in SR gave me goosebumps. It's a great homage and I'm glad they kept in.
SR's is better because we get to see more flying and he looks he's enjoying it as well.Thats not to say that Reeve isn't/wasn't.Both are great, in their own way.
He really made the role his own in this movie, though. His portrayal of Superman was pretty simple, just look heroic. His Clark Kent, however, took enough of Reeve's performance and added just enough subtle changes to make it his own.ROBOCOP CPU001 said:By the next one i'm sure routh will seem more comfortable..

I don't know about that.Wesyeed said:Yes, honestly I thought the classic williams theme felt awkwardly out of place in this vague remake/sequel thing. To clarify my point just kinda imagine hearing the elfman batman theme in begins. I know what singer intended but that's how it felt. What more can I say...
Well if you say so about the space thing... The whole movie was very dark like space tho too. It'd have been a relief to finally get some light...

I agree. Reeve's is still classic, and I would never want that bit changed. His smile at the end of the movies is priceless. It wouldn't work in most films, just would seem out of place to look at the camera and smile like that. I liked the overall look of the Returns end and how, as you said, downplayed it a bit.bunk said:The SR flight looks cooler and has a great feel to it but you can't beat Reeve's smile. I never liked that awkward pivot he makes in the Donner version though. I like the fact that Routh doesn't really play to the camera as much. Reeve made it work but any other time its dumb to have an actor acknowledge the audience.
