Screenname of the Proposed RPG’s Game Master: Master Bruce

Do You Have An Instant Messenger that we can reach you on for better conversation? (i.e MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ect.) And if so, what is your screenname?: allstarbatman, YIM. [email protected], MSN.

Gamemasters/Assistant Gamemasters already chosen: Peter Parker & Syn (Mercenary)

How will the overall layout of the RPG be?: It will be an ongoing RPG divided by seasons, just like the majority of the games. There will be at least three GM's at a maximum, unless the need is there to add more. Open for players' freedom with their writing, as the RPG requires changing some aspects for characters that are allowed. Alot of comic universes will be prohibited, depending on how they could fit into the universe or re-interpreted, or if there's already another RPG featuring the universe.

Premise of RPG, if it is a user created RPG see below for applicable additions to this Applicaton, (Must be a paragraph or longer):

Years ago, there existed the dawn of superheroes. Many far and wide protected the freedoms of their country and their world with pride and selflessness that inspired nation upon nation to live in peace. But that was before the emergence of the threat that would eventually become known as 'The Purge', when the superheroes' respective villains and enemies decided they were tired of constant defeat. Many champions fell over the course of a decade, and finally, both sides died out, leaving many to question whether they would return.

That day has come. Many superpowered individuals have begun to display abilities far beyond those of mortal men, started a revolution of a new breed of heroes and villains. Inspired by the villain's protest, England, as a security precaution, has become a fascist and goverment controlled nation of tyranny and slavery. This has inspired the vigilante known simply as 'V' to embark on a crusade of chaos in the name of freedom. To eradicate this nuiscance, England enlists the help of a new breed of superheroes to take him down, sparking a re-emergence far and wide of both superhero and supervillain alike.

Back in the United States, a growing phenomena is occuring. A young woman named Claire Bennet discovers she is indestructible, while at the same time, a young man named Wesley Gibson learns of his villainous heritage and connection to this legacy. In a strange twist of fate, a renegade CIA agent named Al Simmons is betrayed by his employer and killed, only to be reborn as a satanic hellspawn, a power of which Simmons now controls for his own purpose of justice. And while an oblivious world focuses on these events, a race of magical creatures from an overtaken homeland make their home in the heroes' reality, creating a cosmic shift in which magical diety and superhuman champions co-exist in a dark and scorned world.

Many others, such as the crime boss turned assassin known as Grendel, the escentric time travelling sonic-screwdriver wielding Doctor, and the ancestors of legends such as Zorro, The Shadow, Jonah Hex, and Indiana Jones also inhabit the plainfield, creating a world of intrigue, wonder, suspense, and the struggle between good and injustice.

This is the world where the Comics come alive.

What will this RPG bring to the RPG forums? (please write two complete sentences): I think, first and foremost, a chance to create an entirely new reality comes into play. Nothing like this has really ever been done, though many have wanted to see it. I also like to think it gives people a chance to play characters that... well, simply put, they've always wanted to play, but couldn't due to the ambundance of prominently DC and Marvel based RPG's we have.

How come Indiana Jones and Doctor Who are playable, considering their main media isn't comics? I'm interested, just want to be sure.

It irks me when people refer to the Doctor as "Doctor Who." That's not his name; it's just the name of the show.

I don't know **** about Doctor Who, so no, I didn't know that. Tough luck. :cmad:

And Cats, they both had comic series' that warrant them being allowed. They were introduced in other media, true, but the past failures of movie and TV RPG's made me decide 'eh, why the hell not?'.

I'll definitely give this RPG a chance. Admittedly, it didn't grab me at first, but the application above makes it very appealing. Count me in.

*reels in fishing line with fresh cheddar off of application*

Knew that'd get you.

[Denny Crane] I have an erection. This is a good sign. We can go to the game thread.

... I'm ready. [/Denny Crane]

The pulps?
Not really, per se. They have similar elements, though.

Heaven forbid we try ideas a second, or, hell, even a third time.

Actually, a Comics RPG was tried, but it involved characters time-travelling to interact with eachother. It was a huge mess. This is more like "One Universe", but with indie characters rather than DC and Marvel characters. So while it deals with characters from other companies, it's otherwise an entirely different concept.

I'm in.

omg......The Mask is that much of a badass?

He's called Big-Head or The Big-Head Killer in the comics. The book's title only refers to the mask itself, and not the name of whoever is wearing it, unlike the movie (it was a nice romantic comedy, but calling it an adaptation of the comic is a real stretch). Stanley Ipkiss also dies halfway through the first TPB. The more prominent wearers are Stan's ex girlfriend Kathy, and Lt. Kellaway (he's Big-Head in the pics above). There is a gangster who wears it for a lot of the second TPB, but he's basically a mobster version of Ipkiss' personification of Big-Head.

Walter is the only other mainstay in the Mask trilogy (I refuse to acknowledge the comic after Arcudi left). Walter is just as violent, unstoppable, and unkillable as Big-Head, but in completely different ways.
