More observations I am wondering how it relates to the story.

It's ironic that the patriarch of this Inheritor's family is named Solus. Was it prophetic to the fact he "raises" his family alone due to Karn killing his wife? Or is Solus the prime DNA that creates his cloned family. Seems all the descendants represent fascets of a being who would be a dimensional jumper. That has to mess with the mind.

Is Karn cut off from the benefits of the Inheritor's safeguards? Why wear a mask? I know it is a curse Solus put on him. What if it's more? It would somehow block him from traveling to his home dimension? This in turn blocks the ability to transfer his essence into a cloned body? Notice he used a device to feed while no others do. So him being cut off led him to create a technology that then allowed him to feed. I don't think this ability to feed on totems was something these aristocratic leeches were born with. They were augmented. Perhaps somehow they have to prepare themselves to take on the totems energy in their home dimension. With Karn being cut off, he had to improvise with his fork staff.

I'm betting that we see some form of Jackal/Miles Warren in Scarlet Spiders.

So there has been a lot of debate about who is the Scion.

What we know: Kaine is the Other, Silk is the Bride.

What people think who the scion is: Mayday or the long lost 616 baby May.

What I haven't seen people suggest is Benjy aka Mayday's little brother. That little tyke is also a descendant of Peter's as well and he has been shown to exhibit some spider like powers already. Could that be why Old Man Spider/Ezekiel was so adamant about protecting Benjy in the Cosmic Spider-Man universe?

Of course what best fits the narrative of the reason behind Morlun's fear of the 616 is that all 3 are from that universe, so it could very well be a long lost baby May that a faction of the Sciers has been hiding in order to keep her safe so she can fulfill that prophecy...

We really haven't been given a prophecy yet. Have we? The only prognostication came from new Madame Web, "the web is coming undone, all the spiders will die"

Did the Weaver say something?
(What follows is a meager attempt at forecasting on my part)

"The trembling web causes the spiders to gather,
the Bride's folly brings a great unraveling.
The Other strikes a desperate blow to the One's soul,
The Hunger is consumed by the Scion."

I think we'll know what's what when we know more about how the Inheritors know about the Bride, Other, and Scion. I doubt Slott does anything crazy like unearthing 616 Pete's May. It could be Benji. It could be some new character just created for this event. We just have nothing pointing us any way. It's odd that if Benji was the Scion, Ezekiel didn't tell Pete. Why does Ezekiel know. Is their a prophecy that spans time/dimensions. Is it the Aztec drawings only seen from the air? I'm looking to see if that temple Ezekiel took Peter to I order to amp up his spider had a clue...

Time will tell.

Thwipp!

Aloha,
I like your ideas.:word:
Spidey rules

Well that was lame. The last issue of Amazing had a very lack luster confrontation on Cosmic Spidey and Inheritors. I knew the big blow they would strike would be to take on the Spider safe zone. But the resolution was weak. I really hate villains with inflated power structures just for the sake of being the most powerful being and can't be beaten.

Sorry Slott this is weak.

We know who the Scion is now at least.

One thing that bothers me is where is the Ultimate universe Pete? Yes I know we have the Ultimate cartoon Pete, but where is the Pete from Miles' universe? They could say that Miles and Jess were taken from a point in time before Pete came back (which leaves a small window because Jess is already Widow) and if it was after they would have at least mentioned him. So basically he is wandering around the Ultimate universe and the Inheritors aren't detecting him? I call BS on that.

True. However it seems pretty random. Initially it was looking like all the key players were from universe 616. Now the Scion seems tacked on.

Still bugged that this prophecy still hasn't been uttered yet. What's so big about the Bride, Other, and Scion. Without know it, the Onheritors reaction to these characters is empty. Knowing now who the Scion is, how is it the Inheritors hadn't taken that character previously. It's obvious the big bad Cosmic Spidey was really no deterrent in the long run. So it makes the importance of the Scion less impactful.

Ultimately it cost the antagonist nothing for their victory, so it's empty.

Honestly the spiders are my only draw for this story. That and a hope these worthless villains are erased from the Spider-verse. They add nothing to it.

Maybe they get a splash page when they show the massive war between spiders and Inheritors.

While I was bummed by the lack-luster battle between Enigma Force Spidey and Solus, the art is pretty awesome in the issue. Suttle things like Pete's hair between Superior and Amazing give character elements to each. I really dug the power up sequence of Enigma Force. I really wanted to see the Inheritors get it. Alas. Not so much.

Thwipp!

So, basically, the Mini-Series shouldn't have come out before this issue as this was the real lead-in to those tie-ins.
Way to F up Marvel!

It's not exactly before the mini-series. This seems to take ace either right at the beginning or almost toward the end.

The communication with Miguel, Spider-Lady, and six arms Spidey takes place as they are first starting off in the story. I keep reading comments like "that guy was dead" Marvel messed up. Actually six arms gets killed by Dameos after they get to Miguel's brother workshop. So he's there at the very beginning. I could almost see that story picking up right after Miguel does the fake going through the tunnel to loose Pete's communication.

Pete's communication with Jessica, Ben, and Kaine takes place just before the end of that first issue after the three take down Earth 000's Iron Man and attempt to infiltrate Jennix's laboratory in the Baxter Building.

The note about "Turtleneck" being down and Silk on the run takes place just before they run off to Noir's dimension. So about two thirds through.

So those books being released after Anazing 10 and before 11 sort of makes sense.

Not a blunder on Marvel's part.

The Spider-Verse Omnibus should be in Chronological Panel Order!
:p

I really enjoyed the interaction between Ultimate TV Peter and 60's TV Spider-Man. Some good comedic moments.

What I'm hoping for is the resolution from the last cross-over between Miles and 616 Peter. Peter searched for 616 Miles are looked stunned from the answer he got. I think series offers the answer who 616 Miles is.

I wish the fight between Cosmic Spider-Man and Solus was a tad longer, and just a little bit more even. I mean Solus pretty much rag dolled him. Still, this is still a pretty awesome event and just want to read more about it just to see what other Spider-people they can sneak in.

Aloha,
There was a time when you could have almost two pages of fight scenes.I'm dating myself:grrr:.

Just read Miles and the cartoons Team-Up in Spider-Verse Team Up 2, I love it.

Am I the only one who thinks this is an awful arc? Yes, it was fun seeing many different Spideys, but stuff like 60's Animated Spidey and Spider-Monkey is just dumb and takes me out of it completely. And the interesting characters like Cosmic Spidey and Ben Reilly aren't being used to their full potential, or like May-Day they're being abused for the sake of cheap shocks.

And I didn't know it was possible to make Morlun a more boring character than he already was, but his dumb family are even worse. Just two dimensional, boring, ultra-powered bad guys. Yawn.

But probably the dumbest thing is, is that this storyline is almost an exact retread of the 'Gauntlet' from a few years ago where instead of Morlun's family, Kraven's family was hunting "Spiders"…. except that was more realistic and easier to follow since it didn't take place over a dozen different universes. Ugh…. I have no idea what's even going on in this Spiderverse….. all this Scion, and the Bride nonsense…. guh. Time for Spidey to really get back to basics (not by being single or de-aging him, but by having the normal street-level stories he used to, instead of stuff that reads like rejected SyFy scripts).

And this is the vision the Spidey team need to follow.
The sad thing is; with comic publishers addiction to events it won't be hard to see more of this and less basic stories.

Yeah. Everything's an event now. And they all have to top the last event. So it all becomes meaningless, so nothing's special.

I still remember the big events of the 80's and 90's like Secret Wars, Infinity Gauntlet and Atlantis Attacks, because they were rare and special.

Who can remember an event that happened three or four years ago? Events happen like twice a year now and are loud, but empty, like so much white noise.

No event will top Acts of Vengeance for me, it's that one event that didn't have the feel of an event.
Villains meetings in every title aside.

The only reason I read the first story in Spider-Verse Team-Up #02 is because my brother wanted to hear my feeble attempt at mimicking tones and voices, usually I annoy him with that, but this time he decided it should prove to be entertaining, and it entertained us both. Amazing 700 was a perfect spot to completely drop the Spider-Man title for me, I considered it the end to the main universe Spidey.

Did the movie version appear in this event? Maguire one, not the Garfield version.

There's nothing wrong with a little science fiction for Spidey. He was born from it. Previews shows that a new gang war is going to happen after the Verse. Slott has also said after Verse he will be very unlikely to put two Spider persons in the same room. So it will be only Parker. Sure Spider-Gwen and Silk will be out there. I don't think they are going to interact much with Pete.
