The Conduit

I have a feeling this game will be phenominal. It is getting great press from the major gaming sites...and graphically could surpass MP3 which was fantastic.

It's official, SEGA is the publisher for "The Conduit." I'm not really into FPS, but I'll still be buying this one. It looks really good, and I want to support a smaller developer that took the time to put real work into a game for the Wii and show that publishers can make fantastic looking and playing games on the Wii for the core gamers.

Kudos to High Voltage Software for finally making a decision regarding their publisher, and for not choosing one of the big two just to make a buck, but instead would have been giving up their creative freedom for the casuals...as EA and Activision would have made them do.

This team deserves the monetary support. I feel this game deserves to do well, and show other devs to stop being lazy sell-outs.

SEGA is on a fantastic publishing streak between this and the Platinum games, aren't they.

Yeah this is a must have. Wii Speak compatibility too.

Review is up on IGN. They gave it an 8.6

Looks good. I'm probably going to wait until later in the week for a few other reviews. Namely GameTrailers since I find them to be pretty tough. I'm looking for a good reason to play my Wii and this may be it.

Sounds good, especially since its their first game for Wii. Hopefully their next shooter, The Grinder, will be even better.

If anyone is interested, if you buy any new release at Toys R Us this week, you can get one of these games for 60% off. Might be more incentive to pick this up.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (360)
Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii)
Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party (Wii)
Prince of Persia (360)
WWE: Legends of WrestleMania (360)
Street Fighter IV (360)
Bionic Commando (360)
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (Wii)

I'll probably pick this up, I still got some credit on my gamestop card. Anybody that plays online, keep me in the loop.

Awesome just make sure your sensorbar settings are right

Finally got a chance to play it. Played a couple levels. It will take you awhile to get the controls set up the way you want. I still need to play around with them. My main issue has been the turning speed. Sometimes I get disoriented while in a gun fight but that's b/c I still haven't tuned the controls to my liking. When I'm not though, the game is very fun to play. The All-Seeing Eye (orb your character carries) is a clever puzzle solving tool to use.

There are several setups for the control layout. I kept everything standard except put the ASE to 1 and Pause menu to +. The button for 1 was in MP only so I moved that to 2 while in single player. When you change the controls, the game is unpaused so you'll want to do it in when no enemies are around. And it tells you want you're changing so there won't be any confusion.

Overall, it's a very fun game but you need to spend 30 min or more tuning the controls to your liking. I'd give it 7.5 so far. The multiplayer could bump it up to an 8.

I own The Conduit. The graphics wouldn't have impressed me even ten years ago with the N64, but the gameplay is admittedly pretty good and it is fun. The main game took me only a few hours to finish, but the multiplayer makes up for that, although even that isn't the greatest compared to others like COD4. Heck, even Halo's multiplayer is probably better.

The Conduit's good, but it's not that good.
