Which costumes do you like better overall?

Personally i love the movie versions way more.

The books costumes. Y'know why? They're THE costumes. Movies are nice and everything but lets not forget what it's all about, folks...

comic mainly...i like the movie version though...i like movie rorschach more than comic rorschach...jacket looks a lil more fit...i dig the movie hat so much im in the hunt to get 200 bucks to get one from texas hatters

I prefer the movie Silk Spectre II costume to comic one.

SSII's movie version is hotter...and i like that...but my problem is it doesnt look like a costume from the 80's...idk

I prefer the Comic book costumes, but I do really like what they have done for the movie.

It actually is possible for a movie to improve on a comic ya know, for example, the watchmen costumes? I personally prefer the movie ones.

Of course,I as well prefer the comic costumes, but the movie versions aren't bad at all.

You think this two and a half hour long film is going to IMPROVE on the book? Jeez... Have you read Watchmen?
Dont get me wrong, i like what i see and im sure it'll be an enjoyable movie... but thats all it can ever be... An enjoyable movie... Nothing more, nothing less. It cant hope to match the book. And I wouldnt expect it to, anyway... Anyone who does is just asking be disappointed..

I prefer the comicbook costumes, but I do also like what Snyder and crew have done with the film versions.

I like the ideas behind the movie costumes as much as the ones behind the comic ones. From an aesthetic standpoint, though, TEH COMIC RULZ!1

I'm still disappointed by SSII's costume. I always thought her costume in the GN was extremely sexy, however impractical. I understand that it probably wouldn't work in real life, but the disappointment still exists.

And Ozy is too.... black and evil. He's supposed to base his look on Greek and Roman ideals, so white, gold, and purple are the colors he chooses. Black and silver are just... not right. I like the overall look of his suit, just not the colors.

I think everybody else looks fantastic.

with the exception of Ozy's i like the movie versions slightly better

I think I still favor the comic costumes, 'cause those are the ones I am most used to seeing :oldrazz: But I like the way the movie costumes look. With the exception of Ozy's (but I can understand why that one was changed from the GN) and SS II's. Hers just strikes me as too........impractical.

It's sort of a draw for me, and that goes for both the Minutemen and the newer heroes. I think I prefer the comic book's basic designs overall (Dan's headdress, Laurie's negilee, Adrian's draped cloak, etc), but in most cases, the movie's designs have taken almost every classic element of those designs and improved on the basic element somewhat, or translated it almost perfectly.

I think the "black" is supposed to represent death, not neccessarily "evil".

Don't you mean "black and gold"?

Rorschach-Comic costume come to life
The Comedian-Comic costume come to life
Nite Owl-Prefer the movie costume
silk spectre-Prefer the movie costume
Ozymandias-Prefer the comic costume

So I guess overall I prefer the movie costume.

Depends on the costume. They are meant to look cheesy and silly in the comics, because the book is asking us to really question the logic in the superhero convention. In the film they have to look cool. Since they are almost identical I'll address the only two that were real departures.

Silk Spectre II--I prefer the movie version for obvious reasons.

Ozymandias--The comic version is better. But they both look awful. He looked silly in the book and he still looks silly, but in a Joel Schumaucher way, in the movie.

All the other costumes are pretty much the same.

P.S. Those expecting it to be better than the movie will be disappointed. But those so sure it will only be "ok," and has no chance whatsoever to be real quality are also setting themselves up for disappointment, because they too are judging a movie they have not seen.

Just watch the movie. Don't watch it and go "Wait, wait, they took that out!" Just sit back and enjoy the film and then get in the fanboy arguments afterwards.

I prefer Movie silk Spectre's movie costume better (both of them). The comic book costume never really struck me as a "superhero" costume.

I prefer comic book Ozy though.

Everyone else is pretty much tied.

There will be alot of fanboys doing that i'm sure. I personally dont want to have that mindset where I am scrutinize it against the book. There will be deferences but that doesn't mean it can't be a great movie that is, overall, very faithful to the comic. I have nothing but good vibes about this film. :yay: I think it'll be great, and that we're all in for a treat.

Oops double post.

I think the movie costumes look just as silly as the comic book suits do. In many ways, Nite Owl's overdesigned superhero armor is just absurd looking.

In hollywood superhero movie terms...Yes its very cheesy. It looks pretty amateur. People I've talked to who didn't know watchmen said the costume looked cheesy and crappy.

Comics. Without them...we wouldn't even have this movie. And it will be good, but it never could or would be as good as that book. It's merely impossible. And consequently someday it will be demoted to cult status and then forgotten. Why? Because it’s an interpretation at best and always will be. Sure the film looks great, but it’s not the authentic thing. It’s not the book, the real watchmen. It will always play second fiddle. Always.
