I haven't seen the original in over five years, but remember liking it to some extent. I definitely don't care for the new zombie look at all.
I was stoked for this remake.
Then I saw who was the main character. :/
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=61589Yahoo! Movies has just debuted a second brand new trailer for The Crazies, a remake of George A. Romero's 1973 cult classic. Check it out embedded below. The film, directed by Breck Eisner and opening February 26th, stars Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Danielle Panabaker and Joe Anderson.
Is it me, or does anyone have the sad feeling that this might suck? The trailers don't seem to be doing it for me. They way they're doing this remake makes it look like a rip-of of films like Quarantine (ex. the government getting involved and killing people) and 28 Days Later. But, that might be just me.
Like I said before I'll see since since I'm a fan of Tim Olyphant and Danielle Panabaker isn't bad to look at either. It shpuld be a good movie, seeing as i haven't seen the original.
I've always like him ever since I seen him in Scream 2 and a movie not many I'm sure has heard of GO as the drug dealer he played in that.I don't hate Olyphant but I don't get what the praise is for him with a number of people.
To me looks and acting/personality wise, he's like a mix of Vince Vaughn and Josh Duhamel. Personally I just haven't seen him anything that impressed me yet.

I kind of agree.
In my previous post I said it might be an actual decent remake of sorts but with a second look I'm kind of changing my views.
I'm a huge Romero fan and really like the original. I think it's really lame they turned the infected into zombie type people. The great thing about the original was, similar to Invasion of the Body Snatchers, you couldn't tell who was infected. I expect one too many jump scares just from seeing the trailer and TV spots and I've had enough of that cheap way to scare people being used in just about every horror film lately.
