I agree with you completely. Spider-Man 3 didn't have any problems that Spider-Man 1 and 2 didn't have. Remember that scene from Spider-Man 2 where he first looses his powers and his happy walking down the street to music. Then the camera stops on a close up of him grinning? (Seems similar to the Dancing "Emo" Peter scene, just a little longer.) I liked all three movies. I got worried when I heard that people were even comparing it to Batman and Robin (the one with the nipples on the suit). I didn't know what to expect, but it was the same as the first 2. But it was just as good as the others.
as a side note, Spider-Man 2 seems like it was meant to be more like a comic. What with the drammatic acting (like Ock and the voices or hm checking the chip in his neck (to show the camera like a comic would)) and the Spider-Symbol wipes and such. I could see these things in a comic, so they didn't really bug me.
As for the Venom movie, I don't know if I could have taken a movie of the Venom they created. But maybe if they had more time to develop him it would have been a great character for a whole movie. Have you ever scene the Spider-Man cartoon from the 90s that featured Venom?
Venom attacks from out of nowhere. He tells Peter he knows all his secrets, and proves he is stronger. Then he shows up at Aunt May's and poops in on Peter and MJ while they walk down a busy street.
He shows Peter that he and his family will never be safe. Peter even starts looking over his shoulder thinking Eddie or Venom are there.
That would have been a great storyline for a Spider-Man 4. Having Eddie Brock and Venom (who I wished would have said "we and us" instead "I and me" a few times) terrorizing Peter and MJ. Or it would have at least filled a 2 hour movie.
But if the studios forced Venom into the movie, and there really wasn't anything Sam could do, then so be it. he should be applauded. He managed to make a really great movie (up to par with 1 and 2) with the too much story and characters they made him use. He did a great job, look at Daredevil. It had Elektra, Bullseye, Kingpin, and Daredevil's origin, and it stunk. So at least he got what he did with what he was forced to do it with.
I think that Spider-Man 1-3 are the best super hero films yet. And I seriously hope that they don't stop with these three. I want to see Peter and MJ living together, Aunt May finding out, and maybe a wedding of Peter and MJ.
Just wondering about this, does it bother anyone that in all three movies Peter, Uncle Ben, nor Aunt May, mention Peter's real parents? It is something I never really noticed (only once when Peter said in the 1st one "I had a father, his name was Ben Parker." I thought, what about his real dad?) but I never thought about it before that and then I never really thought about it after.
