The Crow Reboot

Can see this being cancelled again, just can't excited fr any news on this anymore.

From a visual standpoint, Momoa in the role is interesting.

From a "Do we really need this?" and a "Will this actually happen this time?" standpoint...

Is Momoa potentially going to play Eric Draven or a new character. For Eric Draven I'm not a fan. I don't think Momoa has the on screen charisma (at least from what Ive seen) to do it.

But I doubt this is even going to happen. I dont get why theyre pushing so hard for this. It's not like it's going to be a huge grossing movie. Or at least I dont think it will.

Agreed. I think it's uninspired casting, don't think he can carry a movie on his own by him being the lead. Conan anyone? (Not that it was a particularly good movie anyway).

Momoa is no good for this, unless they're making it more of a loose adaptation and a new take on Eric Draven. To me, he comes off as more of a beefed up, badass 'bro' rather than an emotional, compassionate rocker.

They need to let this die. The books managed to do some interesting things such as the pregnant woman who was murdered that came back, but I don't think a film audience will accept anything but the Eric Driven story. That tale has already been told so well, this is beyond pointless.

Relativity’s ‘The Crow’ reboot to begin production in January:

Relativity’s “The Crow” reboot will begin production this January, multiple individuals have confirmed to TheWrap.

News broke last month that Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones”) was in talks to star in the reboot, which Colin Hardy is directing.

Momoa recently posted a photo of himself with Hardy to Instagram with the hashtag “#sealthedeal.”

The actor will step into the role after he wraps production on Warners “Justice League,” in which he plays Aquaman. Audiences were first introduced to Momoa as the character in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Momoa will play Aquaman for a third time in a standalone film scheduled for 2018 and directed by James Wan.

“The Crow” reboot will be a new adaptation of James O’Barr’s cult classic comic book that was originally adapted for the 1994 film starring Brandon Lee and directed by Alex Proyas.

Like the original, the story follows Eric Draven, a murder victim who returns from the dead, seeking vengeance on those who murdered him and his fiancée with the help of a mystical bird.

However, rather than a recreation of Proyas’ film, “The Crow” reboot is said to be a more faithful adaptation of the comic book source material.

Relativity is emerging from bankruptcy and “The Crow” reboot is a priority project for the studio as it looks to rebuild its reputation in Hollywood.

January you say? More than enough time for Momoa to leave.

I want it to happen, but we've been let down so many friggin' times.

Also, they will no doubt want sequels if it's successful. And if that happens, how long will *those* take? Each?

Bull. Damn. S***

I'll believe it when I see it and even if it does come out...ok. I don't know why make this

they remake it the same reason they remake anything

to bring the property to a new audience the crow came out 22 years ago lol

But the thing is even by remake standards the original Crow was this monster hit and there's no evidence that the audience would like it.

But hey it's their money

I think The Crow needs to be made like a decent budget indie film. Id love to see it. Its too bad we are getting Aquaman instead of The Flash as the Crow

Doubt that this ends up happening...at least not until a more inspired team is behind it.
