The Crow

The documentary angle might work and be cool.
I'm still a little bit confused about that, to be honest. This "documentary angle" seems to me as if they're completely betraying the source material by not telling it through The Crow's eyes. Hence the title of this movie being "The Crow". I don't know.

I just get the sense that this film is gonna be dead water. Not to mention the fact that Stephen Norrington is directing it and he hasn't really impressed me with his work, thus far. I'm just afraid that this movie is going to be one of those "heartless, but technically impressive" movies. While that may work for any kind of Destructicon Bay movie. It just wouldn't suit the true spirit of The Crow franchise, in my opinion.

I love Blade. And while I was not impressed by LXG, I hope that 20th Century Fox was more to blame than he was.

I love 'Blade', too. But, what else besides that has he done? He's never really tackled any movie of any kind of emotional depth before.

let me guess what you mean,
it was both down to earth, and very fantastical
Yes. :woot:

But, mostly, it's very fantastical as a whole. I mean, do I even need to bring up that chick who "just so happens to" know how to kill Eric? Of course, this was advanced even further with 'City of Angels'. But, that's another story...

So a documentary crew just "happens" to be there when a dude claws his way out of the ground. Or prior to that they just showed up at the right time to see a rape/murder.

I think alot of you are misunderstanding what "documentary style" is. The French Connection is very documentary-like. That's what Norrington means, i think. Throw the camera into the events and keep it moving. You'd be surprised by how many movies employ that style.

Exactly. This isn't The Crow done in the "Blair Witch/Cloverfield/Paranormal Activity" style.

Shield uses that same thing and it really added to the intensity. I would like The Crow to be like that.

Even more awesome since FC was a great movie.

I'm still opposed to this. Making a worthy sequel...do not remake the first one.

They're not going for the remake route here. This is not "Draven saga redone". Look at it as more of a "Begins"-style reboot. The first movie in a new universe.

A reboot could be done with an incredible sequel. That being said, I've heard rumors that they want to make it more 'realistic'...in my view that's an oxymoron.

Speaking of sequels, supposedly David Goyer said during an interview around the time that City Of Angels came out, if it had been successful, there would've been a third film with Sarah as The Crow. I do wonder how that would've turned out.

It certainly does make you wonder...

I have a great souvenir of the 1st one. I should check it out again to see how it has aged.

Who needs vengeance when you can pose for Calvin Klein?

I'm still all for a female crow movie with Jessica Beil as the Crow :)

how about twp crows operating at one time? and i saw city of angels finally, so, that part whne they have the crows circling aboive judha and the crow, wouldnt eric have been one of those crows?
and what about a period peice crow? like maybe turn of the century, well last century, or soemthign liek that, since the crow is kinda like spawn in that regard, you can tell a story in anytime period
