The Crow 20th anniversary

So what's going on with the remake with Luke Evans? is that not happening anymore? based on what i heard about it, things didn't sound too great. They were saying it was going to be less visually stylized and less gothic.. dumb ideas imo.

if they're going to remake The Crow, they need to utilize today's advancements in special effects. Alex Proyas' first movie was a visual achievement, and a new Crow movie is an opportunity to be another visual achievement.

I loved the blend of rock music and gothic imagery from the original. In the new movie, Eric was going to be a cop, and the rock music would likely be much less of a focus.

The director described the movie as "realistic and almost documentary like"... what?! no!

i'm not really the authority on The Crow though, i've never even read any of the books, but the original movie is one of my favorite movies ever.

But i don't even know if they should remake this. Luke Evans is actually a decent choice, but we'll see if he can deliver a performance that's on the same level as Brandon Lee's...

And who else out there loves the soundtrack from the first movie? there were some amazing songs on there...

Yes, amazing movie, amazing soundtrack, here are some of my favourites:

Also, Luke Evans should be Doctor Strange.

The Crow is almost beyond a normal movie. IDK if people will know what i mean, but the emotional resonance of that movie tops pretty much every film. Idk why. The Crow just makes me emotional

dude bluerayer- the solo on that cure song is sooo sick...
man i love the crow

but i think rebooting is a ****** idea. especially if they're going in the direction that they were talking about a while back

I regret that the scene where the ghost try to convince Eric not to go in the church has been deleted. It's one of the best scene. "I'm already alone".

Also, the one wher ehe plays guitare is simply incredible. So moody. You can feel his loneliness, and his deep pain.

I know man, Im not really a Cure fan but this song is so good.

What was the direction of the reboot?(Im almost afraid to ask)I have only heard about Tom Hiddleston, then Luke Evans being attached to play the lead role.

This movie is my favorite, along with Interview with the Vampire, but the rumors of the remake makes me cry... I hope they are just rumors!

They were saying the movie wouldn't be visually stylish, it'd be realistic, and that'd be almost "documentary style"

Seriously WHAT THE **** are they thinking? That is seriously the worst possible direction they could take the crow in.

Interview with the Vampire is the bomb! love that movie. IWTV, The Lost Boys and Bram Stoker's Dracula are probably my favorite vampire movies

:down Ugh. That sounds terrible. :cmad:

All three movies you named are good vampire movies, i used to watch The Lost Boys religiously back when it came out and i would just like to add Blade 1+2 to that list. I didnt include Blade 3, because while i think its decent and certainly watchable it's not on the same level as 1+2. Blade 1 is my favourite Blade btw.

Blade and Blade II are both fantastic. Blade is one of my favorite superhero movies for sure. Underworld was kind of similar, i liked that too.

But yeah the direction they wanted to take The Crow in is seriously awful, it sounds like a joke. It may be best to just leave the movie alone for a while. They're never going to find a better Eric Draven than Brandon... i feel like there is a lot they could do visually though with today's technology..

Last I heard, O'Barr said the new film would be the original graphic novel page-for-page.

Yeah it doesn't look like any reboot is going to happen for a while though..

documentary style is exactly how you don't make the crow.

He didn't say it, but I hope so. Even if it's in color, I would expect Eric and Shelly randomly murdered on the side of the road, Sherri instead of Sarah, etc. That's the movie I want to see.

I need to watch The Lost Boys =/

There were rumors that Eric Draven would be a catholic policeman...

I don't call it a remake, i call it a separate adaptation. Remakes are only for when they are based on original screenplays not based on any exisiting source material and based on motion pictures produced earlier, The Blob is a true remake as it's not based on any book, comic or written source material but original screenplay. The Dark Knight Trilogy are also separate adaptations of Batman and same for Dredd.

Great movie. Easily my favourite CBM ever.

Great soundtrack, too. The Cure, Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails, Pantera, Rage Against The Machine, Violent Femmes, The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Helmet, Rollins Band. Holy ****ing ****.

I think it's a complete joke that Saw gets a theatrical re-release later this year for its 10th anniversary, while, as far as we know right now, The Crow is getting nothing this year.

The soundtrack is great, but the score by Graeme Revell is just amazing.

I ****ing love this movie. I can honestly say it changed my life. I was obsessed with it for quite a few years and even ran my own Crow fan site back in the day, lol. Need to watch this again soon with my girl.

If there are any fans of The Crow in (or near) Pittsburgh, PA the AMC Loews 22 theater is going to screen it at the end of the month. This theater plays classic movies every Wednesday and I've been lobbying these guys for the last few years to show The Crow and they finally came through and made a special showing on Devil's Night, Oct. 30th. They have great presentations of older films. I get to see The Crow again and Thor: Ragnarok in the same week. My body isn't ready :funny:
