The Curse of Chucky

one of my cousins was like that, at one point. but then i bought her a replica Chucky doll as a birthday present. she refused to touch it. so i had to keep hiding it in random places to scare her. now she likes it enough to let her kid sleep with it.

Wow, you are evil :oldrazz:

^ That's actually pretty awesome to hear, I do think they made some great improvements to the doll and how they lit it in this film, I think Chucky is the creepiest he's ever been.

Yeah I honestly think it's refreshing that a modern horror movie can give me the creeps, cuz that does not happen often these days.

After getting so much Chucky action in the last few movies, taking him back to the less is more approach wasn't the best idea IMO.

How exactly did this movie pertain to Chucky's Curse?

Chucky should go after Katherine Heigl next either the actress or the surviving character from Bride Of Chucky. It would be funny if Tiffany swapped souls with her & Katherine Heigl's spirit was trapped in Jennifer Tilly's body, then Katherine Heigl as Tiffany would go around committing crimes to get Katherine Heigl in trouble etc.

So who was the cop talking to on the phone?

Wonder who else wants Chucky?

The cop was leaving a message on Jennifer Tilly's cell phone but she was already in the car as you saw.

I finally got a chance to see this and I really loved it. It went back to the tone of the first two movies. Chucky was really dark with a black comedy edge to him. The kills were limited but effective. I liked the bit of back story they added to Charles Lee Ray. It was nice that the movie had an actual story to tell.

I also liked that they didn't ignore the continuity of the previous movies. Jennifer Tilly's cameo was fantastic.

Finally just saw this. Thought it was above average. If this takes place after Seed, why is his face not stitched up? I know it's kind of scratched up at the end, but the scars don't look like they did in the last two movies, and his hair wasn't stapled to his head either. Theories?

chock it up to artistic license. it's supposed to be after Seed.

loved it great new installment and superbly tie them all together

my one gripe like most is the contradicting endings the made no sense.

why transfer to the little girl, and then show up in at andys house, and it is chucky because of the voice. if it was the little girl as some have suggested it would have been hers.

i did read one theory that the transfer was actually the little girl into the grandmothers body hence the jump scare

What's artistic license have to do with it?

because the artist determines how many scars and staples that Chucky has. it's like Michael Myers' mask not being identical to the one in the first movie.

I see. Why would Mancini allow the artist to change his look I wonder? He looked the same 1-3 pre-stitched and 4-5 when his face was stitched. What would make somebody think it's necessary? His look was my only complaint about the entire film, it's that good, but it made no sense to do that. Honestly, I thought Barb was peeling the skin off his face at first, thus revealing he's human, until I went back and noticed the stitching after somebody pointed it out. I think that's why there was a lot of confusion as to whether or not this was before or after Bride or Seed.

Finally got around to watching the film.

I didn't hate it but it's lower budget shows. Yes it looks nice for a straight to DVD movie but it still looks and feels small in comparison to the other films.

Chucky's face looks different, I'm not a huge fan of the redesign. The gore looked CGI inhanced or something and that bothered me. I thought Fiona Dourif was a good as the lead and I didn't have any large issues with the other actors, they were okay. I like that they went back to Chucky's horror roots and there are some legitimately creepy moments in the film. Overall the story just seemed really contrived to me for reasons I won't get into because I don't want use a spoiler tag.

So yeah it was okay for lark, at least they tried but it wasn't anything to write home about. I'm sure I'll watch it again one day to see if I change my mind one way or the other.

RATING: 6/10
