My opinion? I found Angels and Demons to be slightly better than the Da Vinci Code. Not saying the Da Vinci Code sucked or was horrible, it's just Angels and Demons was very mysterious, unpredictable, and really played out like the perfect suspense/adventure movie waiting to be directed.

I highly recommend it and it's very thought provoking too.

You're speaking of the Camerlengo? Yes. He killed the pope(his father) with the belief that he betrayed the sacred vows.

I found the book to be very interesting though. I definitely recommend it to everyone who wants or enjoys a good read, you know? For me I simply couldn't put the book down.

synopsis:

An ancient secret brotherhood.
A devastating new weapon of destruction.
An unthinkable target.

World-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a cryptic symbol seared into the chest of a murdered physicist. What he discovers is unimaginable: a deadly vendetta against the Catholic Church by a centuries-old underground organization — the Illuminati. Desperate to save the Vatican from a powerful time bomb, Langdon joins forces in Rome with the beautiful and mysterious scientist Vittoria Vetra. Together they embark on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth...the long-forgotten Illuminati lair.

Will this movie come out this year?

It's scheduled for a May 19 release. It could get delayed pending the lawsuit against author Dan Brown.

I sincerely hope that doesn't happen.

I don't think it's going to happen. From what i read, the prosecution does not have a strong case against him.

^That would suck if it got delayed because of that lawsuit.

The only place the release would be delayed is in England because that's where the lawsuit lies.

I am still pumped about this movie, but that trailer doesn't impress me all that much. The casting of Tom Hanks is still something I am unsure about, but the trailer was just a little lackluster.

I agree. The first trailer got me more excited.

I actually like the pacing of this trailer,it builds nicely IMO
The movie looks lavish and classy and hopefully will be thrilling
Audrey is so cute:O

I just got done finishing the book. What in god's name is up with this casting... "Ian McKellen .... Sir Leigh Teabing " ? Isn't Leigh Teabing suppose to be fat and short? I also got the feeling he was Langdon's age, that could of been my fault assuming that but none the less a fat McKellen could be scary :( This casting choice is awesome "Jean Reno .... Bezu Fache". The book is okay, I liked it but it's really over-rated. It feels like it's made to be a movie because there quite a bit of fat there that can be shed away, and perhaps the actors can add a little more dept to the characters. But none the less I'm looking forward to this movie.

I just saw the trailer and I'm intrigued. The book was great (and I agree Angels and Demons was better) and the movie has one heck of a cast signed up. This movie just got bumped up a few notches on my "cannot wait-o-meter".
