Frankly, i feel like this is one of those properties that could easily warrant a film treatment.
I dunno, Marvels films schedule is already pretty packed. I don't expect to see any Defenders movie until after 2019. Unless its a Netflix original movie. Then again Netflix doesn't really make movies.

They are starting too. There's a new Pee Wee Herman movie coming out on Netflix soon and they recently picked up the rights to Beast of No Nation starring Idris Elba and they have movie deals with Adam Sandler and the Duplass Brothers.

Definitely seems like the Defenders will be a Hand vs. Chaste thing. Didn't think of that, I thought it would be more street level crime based than mystical...which I guess I was dumb for thinking it would be that simple lol. Marvel keeps upping the ante, I should stop underestimating them, they're not afraid to adapt stuff like this.

But I wonder how Luke Cage and Jessica Jones get brought into it? Iron Fist and Daredevil make sense given their connections, but those two seems sort of out of place with this unless Cage's connection with Danny brings him into it and by association with him, Jessica. Or maybe there will be more street level crime elements in it that involves them as well? Maybe her detective agency work with Cage helping her out gets them involved? Gotta see Jessica Jones.

Kilgrave will serve as the Jessica Jones connection for DD. Purple Man is an old school DD villain and I think it would be great if DD crossed over a little in that storyline.

I think JJ can dispatch Purple Man on her own, and its been confirmed Luke Cage will be in her show so she'll have help anyway. I don't see DD being involved much in AKA Jessica Jones.

Am I the only one who thinks at somepoint Purple Man will mind control Cage? I dunno, I just see it happening.

I want to see Purple Man be the one to manipulate Melvin Potter into suiting up and fighting Daredevil. Its gotta happen.

It occurs to me that even though the crossover is going to be shorter than the normal series, it's still going to pull in just as many viewers as, if not more than, the a normal series. Does anyone else picture this having a huge budget for the number of episodes?

Anyone think the Defenders will have team logo's on their costumes? And what of there base, of they have one, perhaps some sort of warehouse where they make plans.

No to team logos, I think they're pointless. This isn't a club. I think the team up is out of necessity to band up against a common foe and not sure it'll be a permanent thing with a headquarters.

Though the power levels are quite a bit different than their 70s comic book counterparts, it makes sense that the Netflix Defenders maintain the "non-team" approach as a way to separate them from the more formalized Avengers structure.

What do you guys think of Defenders vs Taskmaster?

Not a big enough threat. DD or IF sure, but not the whole team. That would be pretty lame imo.

I'd like the Hood to be introduced as a villain for these guys.

What do you mean not big enough. Taskmaster onfe handed the Avengers they're collective assets if I remember correctly. With his photographic memory and fighting style copy abilitiy it'd be a huge challenge for the Defenders to find a way around it.

Thats in the comics. And even then i think thats quite a bit overboard. Given the right writer they could have him get his butt handed to him on a silver platter by IF alone. If you're going to have a threat for a team consisting of a super strong bullet proof man, a kung fu master with the legendary iron fist, Daredevil who probably would've gotten even better by time the team is formed and lets not forget about jessica.

My point being it'd be cool to see them fight but given who the team is and how they have the tendency to nerf people in live action, i wouldn't see it being the best thing ever. But like i said. Him against DD or IF would be great. Especially to see how they over come him.

The Hand were interested in getting that specific block of land for themselves, and the Japanese letters say 'black sky' on them, which was the name of that important kid Stick killed. I think we will see the MCU's take on Shadowland in the Defenders.

And I think that just like with Claire Temple and Night Nurse, Marvel is combining a bunch of characters here. First, I think Nobu is short for Kagenobu Yoshioka (founder of the Hand) and Kirigi (a member of the Hand that keeps getting revived after dying). I'm thinking that Kirigi will become a name but a title for skilled Hand fighters. So I assume that the Hand will revive Nobu or attempt to somewhere down the line (probably in Defenders).

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a Netflix original Marvel movie within the next ten years. Ghost Rider perhaps?

I thought the same thing about Shadowland when I saw that map. I don't know if we'll see it as soon as The Defenders, but I definitely see it coming at some point if they make enough seasons on Netflix. (But I hope not too soon!)

I would like that too! Again, I don't know if he would be good for the first season, but somewhere, some time in this Netflix world I'd like to see him. With [BLACKOUT]the Kingpin in jail and the other mob bosses killed[/BLACKOUT], there is currently a power vacuum... so who knows! I definitely see him working best in a post-Dr. Strange MCU, though.

I have a feeling the villain might be someone like The Hood, someone not appearing in the previous series or just a few set ups. I feel the Hand will come in to play for Daredevil season 2. Taskmaster is a good idea as the lead villain's right hand man. I like the Hood as the villain because he fits both realms of the supernatural and the organized crime. Since the Defenders are made up of street level heroes you need a villain that isn't too big for them to handle but also not someone they can handle as individuals. Adding some supernatural powers puts them out of their elements and gives them a unique challenge.

This is how I picture it playing out. There's a new crime boss making a play for all of NYC. Gang on gang violence is down as he's able to consolidate power and make deals with rival organizations. For example he promises the Hand not to interfere with any of the Hand's operations and will lend help in exchange for a certain object.

Each defender find themselves against him through separate ways. Daredevil finds out there's a new player in town either by his usually crime fighting ways or by a case. Jessica is hired to investigate something that leads to the new organization, she either asks Luke Cage to help or he finds his own way. Iron Fist discovers a K'un L'un artifact from a museum has been stolen and decides to look into it. Meanwhile the Punisher is in town currently researching the NYC criminal hierarchy so he can cripple it all at once.

Daredevil and the Punisher have an encounter and fight each other, Castle gets away and Murdock gets a look at what he would become if he was a killer. The group then becomes aware of each other and discover the new crime boss is the Hood and has supernatural powers. They decide to work together possibly with the Punisher or the Punisher staying on his own. Everything comes to a head once the team takes on the Hood as he is trying to accomplish his plan; he has been gathering rare, special items and ingredients for a spell. The K'un L'un artifact is used to kidnap a powerful individual and the spell is to take control of his power. The Hood is attempting to take command of the Spirit of Vengeance, The Ghost Rider. The city is in danger and all hell breaks loose, luckily the team pulls together and frees Ghost Rider turning the tide in the fight. The Hood is defeated and the Team wins.

In the aftermath Ghost Rider and Punisher leaves the city going their separate ways. Luke Cage and Iron Fist really got a long and with Jessica Jones they decide to form Heroes for Hire. They invite Daredevil but he prefers being a loner but givens them the number to his burner phone.

Netflix Phase 2:
Daredevil Season 2 will have him going against The Hand and introduce Elektra.
Heroes for Hire continues the story of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
The Punisher goes to take on the Chicago organized crime.
Ghost Rider does a who supernatural detective thing going from town to town. Perhaps Blade makes an appearance.

That's the things I love about Marvel going the Netflix route, it allows them an opportunity to use characters that have already had failed movies, So bringing back Daredevil, Punisher, Ghost Rider, and Blade to the MCU can be done without doing another movie. Allows their story to be told in a unique way.

Urgh, I never really got the hood. He just never seemed intimidating to me.

That said he would be effective. He's a new type of super villain, not as grounded as the kingpin but arguably as vicious so it makes sense someone like matt would have to work with the defenders to take him down plus it would probably lead into doctor strange a bit which marvel will be promoting by about then

Yeah I never really cared for him either, but I feel he's perfect for an adaptation.

Also I just had another thought, I heard a rumor that the Defenders will appear in Avenger: Infinity War Part 2, so what if the Defender series involves an infinity stone?

Looking in to the Hood I have to say he seems like garbage.

So they'll likely have The Hand
But I did some research on Defenders villains. Here are some other possible villains they can do.

-Modok
-Arcade
-Wrecking Crew
-Mandrill
-Egghead
