I wonder who Weaver is playing... Hope its not a new character.

Wow. So now the cast is the entire street-level Marvel Universe in one show with the exceptions of Blade, She-Hulk, Echo and Moon Knight who aren't in the MCU yet and Spider-Man who's with the Avengers.

I don't know what's surprising about this...

I wonder when Joy will be announced?

Also I think the most important person not yet announced is Melvin Potter. He should hook the Defenders up with gear.

Some supporting characters are bound to die and not make it out of the first season of Iron Fist, just like Luke Cage and Daredevil.

I also hope that this show has received a better budget than the previous Netflix Marvel series before it, especially when you consider the potential scope of the threat and all of the assembled characters involved.

It already has a boost in budget as the money that would be spent on the missing 5 episodes would go towards the shorter 8 episode count. They have 4 heroes to do fx for (whether it's a billy club, or jumping high, bullets hitting skin or glowing fists) along with whoever the villain is (Black Sky, Elektra, The Hand in general).

I think, even if Joy or any of IF's other supporting cast are in this, they won't announce them yet, to prevent spoiling who doesn't survive the show

What gear? Cage is nearly invincible. The only thing he needs for his costume is a chain belt and that's just for show.

Jessica doesn't wear a costume at all. Period. Armor isn't true to the source material.

Iron Fist first wore a ceremonial outfit, then switched to a baggy tracksuit in the comics. He's never been armored.

Colleen Wing carries a ceremonial sword that was her maternal grandmother's.

Misty Knight's prosthetic was built by Tony Stark. Most likely we'll see a cameo of Maria Hill offering a free prosthetic to Misty in the hospital in the final episode of the series and saying that Tony Stark himself offered to pay for it in full.

Daredevil and Elektra got outfitted by Potter... so that already happened. What purpose would Melvin Potter play in the story? We're talking only 8 episodes and I'd be surprised if he showed up.

I think they meant some sort of protective outfit for them. Daredevil wears spandex in the comic and Elektra has a bunch of red cloth wrapped around her body. I think the rest will have to get some sort of protection -- Mainly Iron Fist and Jessica as they aren't bulletproof. It also wouldn't hurt to have just a little protection if you are going against a bunch of ninjas.

As for the rest, Misty isn't getting her arm cut off anytime soon and I don't think we will get Maria Hill on this either. We have no idea how they will deal with Colleen and her swords but again, protection is key. Luck favors the prepared.

I feel like Potter could get Luke a tear resistant clothes, so along with his bullet proof skin the bullets won't rip through his shirt and just bounce off. That would be a reason to get him a "costume" even though he doesn't need protection.

There'll be something or someone in the show that can hurt Cage. Maybe the Hand's weapons can cut him or something

Why would Stark do that, especially for a random cop he's never met? If she gets the arm it'll be from somewhere else.

Eight episodes is for the better. Luke Cage and Jessica Jones got really padded on the back half. I think eight episodes will allow for a more focused, tighter story.

Everyone's assuming Misty Knight is going to lose her arm, which I don't see happening. On the off chance she did that, there are any number of ways they could fix that. Danny Rand is a billionaire heir to a huge company. He could probably help out with that.

Yeah, I doubt it works out like that. Here's the issue. Tony Stark is never going to show up on Netflix for the foreseeable future.

Also, Misty Knight having a robot arm means it's going to need maintenance and sometimes replacements. She gets it ripped off and damaged A LOT. So she's going to need to have people who can replace it and regularly do maintenance on it.

Then again, I predict it's never going in that direction either. Considering they went through all that trouble of setting up her losing her arm and then bait and switched it so she didn't lose it at all. At the end of the season of Luke Cage, she was fully healed and her arm was fine. It was never mentioned after like episode 11.

Misty probably isn't going to get a robotic arm but if she did it would probably come from Coulson and his shield crew rather than Stark. A cameo from Clark is a hell of a lot more cheaper than a RDJ cameo and Coulson already has a hi-tech prosthetic hand.

Iron Fist can dodge/catch bullets in the comics. His reflexes are practically superhuman.

You don't need a cameo from Tony Stark to show Stark Industries, to be fair.

What kind of stuff does the Rand Corporation do in the comics? Would prothetics be within their area of expertise? I never really read Iron Fist, but I could see Danny giving Misty the arm, which could also act as a sort of romantic gesture perhaps.

If she ever gets one I would like it to be a bit more realistic than Bucky's super-cyborg-arm and Coulson's magic swiss army knife hand. I'd like it to look like similar to real-life advanced prosthetics, just a bit smoother, like a natural progression of real life science. So an improved, smoother version of this basically, except for her full arm.

It would also be nice to see her actually having to adjust to the lack of tactile feedback from her arm and such.

Except there seems to be no desire to get SHIELD and Coulson on Netflix, and Jeph Loeb does not seem to be pushing things in that direction at all. It would more than likely be Rand Corp if anything.

They are an industrial corporation. I don't think we actually saw it in the show, but during shooting for Daredevil, the truck carrying the chemicals that caused Murdock's accident and enhanced senses was a Rand Corp. truck.

I was talking hypothetically.
