I hope not. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I would prefer that the Defenders doesn't end up being the type of group where several of its members have shared lovers with each other....which is actually why I'm hoping that Iron Fist and Misty Knight don't become a thing either.

I agree with you 100%. By having characters with shared lovers it begins to strip away the uniqueness of the other relationships. I am not against sex scenes, but it would be good if they had a significance and were not just thrown in there for the sake of having a sex scene. I mean I love the relationship between Matt and Elektra for example and it would totally destroy their connection if Elektra was to hook up with lets say Iron Fist. I mean sure she might appreciate Danny's skills as a Martial artist, but Matt and her share a history that is interwoven and special. That is something no one else can replace, so their feelings for one another have significance.

At least that's how I see it.

I actually hope that Luke and Jessica get back together, Misty and Danny become and item and maybe when Karen is dead (and possibly other love interests) Matt and Colleen can start dating so Colleen isn't perpetually single like in the comics.

Misty and Danny were a ground breaking couple who have four decades of history together. It would be a real shame if the writers disregarded that simply because Misty had a one night stand with Luke.

I wouldn't be OK with that. Also, this IMHO makes up for the theatrical movies being so sexless.

Is anyone else really dishearetened that The Hand will be a big part of the series? The whole Ninja subplot in Season 2 of Daredevil was so dismal when compared to the Punisher storyline, and no matter how they frame it just seems hokey and sad. They don't have any real characters among them, no antagonists with any worth besides generic martial artists.

I should be really excited for this series, but I don't see how I can be if it's yet again filled up with Ninjas instead of well-written, well-designed villains.

The Hand have Nobu, who is so interesting that they have to keep bringing him back for us to see yet another fight with him. Once he dies in the first episode of the Defenders, he'll come back again to fight them for the next 7.

They'll all have a go at killing him: Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, Trish Walker, Elektra and of course Daredevil. That's why they have that many characters so they can all try it.

They won't even defeat him in the end. They'll just acknowledge they've run out of episodes so will have to continue this another time, maybe next season.

In regards to the villain issue, I have always wanted to see The Crusader appear - especially as he would clash so well against Daredevil.

For those who don't know, Crusader is a Christian extremist who appears in part because of the media attention Thor is getting. He has magical armour and weaponry gifted to him from a spirit he saw in a cemetery and uses it to try and clean society of the "pagans" (AKA Superheroes) until Thor shuts him down.

Having someone like that contrasted against Daredevil's Catholicism would be very interesting. In fact, such a deeply bigoted character would probably clash with every member of the Defenders!

A Matt/Jessica hookup certainly seems unlikely to me, for several reasons, including the fact that both Elektra and Karen will be in Defenders and there's already a lot to resolve with those relationships. The last thing Matt needs is yet another romantic pairing.

You could very well be right Faith Cassidy. I'm just throwing it out there because these shows do tend to put together some weird romantic pairings.

Eh. Neither Misty nor Luke had any other romantic attachments, certainly not who were going to be on the same show. And their ONS made sense within the context of Luke Cage.

Matt and Jessica hooking up is based on what exactly? The fact that they are sharing scenes? In that case, we should prepare for a Luke/Danny hookup as well.

OK, Jessica has no romantic attachments. There's no evidence Karen and Matt got back together. They have no romantic attachments. What if they have a night of passion that makes sense within the show?

I'm not sure why they would hook up, but hey, thought it might be interesting. I'm sure Luke and Danny hooking up would please some fans as well.

Karen and Matt have a romantic history, as do Elektra and Matt and Luke/Jessica and they are all in Defenders. That's just one of the reasons the odds are not in favor of a Matt/Jessica hookup. Right now, there's no reason to believe the latter will be anything more than friends/partners.
