Karen and Matt have a romantic history, as do Elektra and Matt and Luke/Jessica and they are all in Defenders. That's just one of the reasons the odds are not in favor of a Matt/Jessica hookup. Right now, there's no reason to believe the latter will be anything more than friends/partners.

Do Luke and Misty have a romantic history? Or what about Matt and Claire? What about Trish and Nuke? Just saying. The reasons you are giving are rather arbitrary and they are ones Netflix has already broken before.

We're in agreement, I certainly wouldn't be opposed. I'd love for Jessica to take control and get so into it she flings Matt around the room like a human piñata, thus breaking furniture (among other things). I doubt it'll happen though.

Honestly, I think that sounds hilarious and awesome and I want to see it just for the visual alone.

As for mixing up all the other pairings, I say, why the heck not because the shows are already doing it

What?? I'm talking about a history in the MCU, not the comics. Matt/Karen, Matt/Elektra have romantic history on the show, Daredevil. If Matt is going to hook up with anyone, history and logic says it will be Karen or Elektra. The only thing arbitrary here is the idea of a Matt/Jessica hookup. The irony... lol

As for Misty/Luke, once again, they only had a ONS and it made sense, in part, because they had no romantic ties to anyone else on the show at the time. That will not be the case for either Matt or Jessica in Defenders.

Matt being married in the comics didn't prevent him from cheating on his wife.

Perhaps you should ask yourself why Matt and Jessica would have a ONS and how would it advance the story. Given everything else that's happening in Defenders, those two hooking up just seems absolutely unnecessary, especially with so many other relationships that can and should be explored/resolved. And lets not forget Defenders only has 8 episodes. There's so much more I'd rather see than a random Matt/Jessica ONS.

I doubt romance will be a heavy thing in the miniseries. I could see there being emotional ties but not a whole lot else. Matt having feelings about Elektra and her death is a definite though.

We saw him struggle with her showing up again, how her presence consumed much of his life. Then he has to accept losing her again, only to discover that she's alive? I imagine that will be a big part of Matt's story in Defenders. A Matt/Jessica hookup seems like it would only serve as a distraction and not one that would make any sense at all.

It doesn't make a lot of sense for him considering she's a sociopath, and Matt's not OK with that.

Lol You're reaching. First of all, Elektra is not a sociopath. That was clear from her vulnerability with Matt, her desire to try to be someone different/better and ultimately sacrificing herself. And the fact is, Matt is in love with Elektra, so much so that he told her he felt hollow when he thought she died and talked of running away with her. That's a really big deal, you know. That kind of connection doesn't just go away, even with their stark differences...which only highlights just how much Matt loves her. Not even those differences or all the years apart could stop him from loving her.
