Man, I hate this twice a month shipping. ASM, Batman Inc., FF, New Mutants, and X-Men all just came out this past week. I can't afford all this so I'm going to have to drop stuff for this summer. I may end up having to skip Youth in Revolt unless it looks good when I skim it. I may also drop FF and Daken after the crossover. I'm also considering dropping ASM as I've not enjoyed it in 3 weeks. If not for the Jackal's return I think that'd be a definate.

We'll have to see.

And that's it, unless this week's ASTONISHING X-MEN starts the rotating Christos Gage issues. After two "feast" weeks, I am up for some "famine" so I can save some cash. Two weeks that cost over $32 are really hitting me (the last week in April nearly hit $40). I don't mind Marvel publishing so many books, but do they have to be scheduled in downpours and drizzles? 5-7 a week is a good number. Not 3 one week and ****ing 11 the next.

On the positive side, I do like that YOUTH IN REVOLT is priced at $2.99. Few mini's seem to and it seems like Marvel has been pricing some that feature newer characters, like POWER MAN AND IRON FIST, at that price to encourage purchasing. Not bad. Now if only they learned that lesson for #1 issues of things like SPIDER-GIRL and YOUNG ALLIES.

Right. Haven't read NEW MUTANTS since the 12th of never, and I need a new ongoing title like a hole in the wallet. I probably haven't read an X-Men ongoing title since the Joss Whedon/John Cassaday run on AXM finally ended (and even that was a rarity for me). To be fair, DnA on "terran" based comics have been hit (HEROES FOR HIRE) or miss (IRON MAN/THOR).

I might give it a look if I hear good reviews. Unlike JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY, I'm not predisposed to hate the lead(s).

So how has Who Is Jake Ellis? been? I really enjoyed the first issue but had to drop it due to funds (and frankly, haven't seen a single copy at my shop since the first issue). Has it maintained that level of quality since issue 1?

Personally, I would say so. Probably the only problem I'm potentially seeing is it may drag the mystery out too long, but it's hard to tell that with just three issues in. Still a good read, though. It got extended to an ongoing, too.

Did anybody see All Star Superman yet? Was it the biggest piece of crap you've ever seen? I found it to be laugh out loud (literally, not LOL) ridiculous. It was so crazy, but not in a good way, I thought.

Daredevil Reborn has not been that good... very boring sadly. But it's only 4 issues and then the relaunch has a new creative team, Mark Waid writing.

Yeah, Shadowland was such a disappointment; and, the stuff that stemmed from it wasn't much better. I will say that Black Panther got a bit better after that awful first issue; but, it's clearly not for everybody. It's a very wordy comic and it has a gritty feel to it. Daredevil Reborn hasn't been terrible...it's just the premise is ridiculous.

I'm VERY excited with the new direction of quite a few of Marvel's comics. The new writing teams just seem really good. Rucka on Punisher...that's just one of the best GETS Marvel has gotten for a while. DC has seriously gotten worse since Rucka has been noticeably absent. I can't wait for Waid on Daredevil, and hopefully we can have all the old Shadowland crap behind us. Spencer on Secret Avengers is great. Brubaker just wasn't cutting it. And, we all have been impressed with Gillen on Journey Into Mystery. It almost makes up for Fraction's awful Thor.

A very huge week. Lots of great comics, however. Last issue of REBELS damn you all who did not buy this book.

Hopefully the un-awfulness of The Mighty Thor #1 is an indication that Fraction'll get better. But it could've also just been a fluke. We'll have to wait and see.

Rucka on the Punisher is gonna be friggin' sweet, though. I can't wait to see what he does with the character. The man just writes everything well. It's amazing.
