The Director of Flash is...

hey jake have u watched the spectacular spider-man toon. its a great spidey adaption

Well, I heard great things about the Green Lantern script that Greg Berlanti co-wrote. I can´t comment on his TV shows, none of them appears to be up my alley. But if Geoff Johns is involved with creating the story it should be good stuff.

yea with johns script and with others helping out too it could turn out very well film. We will just have to wait and see if things actually happen this time.

Yeah, well, there´s definitely a better chance of things happening than with the director of A Night At The Museum...

i agree on that.

at least they have a guy who done drama. and yeah, his work on Green Lantern is admirable.

it makes me think..if they ever consider Bradley Cooper, his face is so narrow. i wonder how he would look like with the Flash mask on.

I'm willing to give Berlanti a chance. Since the Flash will be a much smaller scale film than GL, I don't think the risk is there as much of a lesser experienced director being too out of his league.

speaking of which Mr. Potential Captain America himself, John Krasinski, could be a good Barry if he doesn't get CA.

Krasinski has crossed my mind as well. And despite already being the Human Torch, I think Chris Evans would be a good choice.

I think they'll go with someone in the same mold as Reynolds: someone known for their comedy roles but has some dramatic chops.

There have been a lot of directors attached to Flash. I doubt Berlanti will be the last.

there's times when i agree with you vile one, but you're so predictable sometimes.

There were a lot of directors attached to Fantastic Four through its decade of development at Fox before it was released. The same will be true of The Flash. Whether Berlanti is the one who brings it to the screen remains to be seen, but he very well might be.

I do agree that, if the movie sucked then we kinda know why. I really don't want WB to treat this as a second class movie (Ghost Rider or whatever). Treat it as an A lister like how they're treating Green Lantern.

I just want the movie to work and do well.

Berlanti for Flash?

Difficult to get excited considering his obvious strength is in writing and his talent as a director has gone relatively untested. Especially when WB is picking the likes of Nolan and Campbell for other projects. Although I guess they also picked Hayword.

I've seen a couple of episodes. Didn't like it. :yay:
ohh thats to bad alot of fans say its the best adaption in animation for spidey. But hey we all have our likes and dislikes.

As for flash i really do hope it will happen this time. So hoping we will see more development coming in the next few months and get a peg on when things will happen, casting, and which flash they decide to go with.

This is alright news. Good they have a director
Makes me feel weird though that they have novice writers and a novice director for a big project. They should have at least gotten a bigger director
Peter Krause or Aaron Staton for Barry
Scott Porter or Dustin Milligan for Wally

how do they have novice writers for flash, its geoff johns and some other guy. They will probably not be the only ones who work on the script if this film goes into production this time under greg. I am sure 2-3 other writers will come in. Look at green lantern. First it was greg and that other guy, they did a bunch of rewrites, then campbell comes in probably changed some things, and then geoff and that new writer we heard about.

You basically answered your own question by calling Mazeau the new writer
Dan Mazeau wrote Johnny Quest, but still I count him as a novice because besides he hasnt written that has gotten published
And I thought Johns just wrote the treatment/consulted, but even if he is actually co writing he still has little to know experience as a film screenwriter. All hes done (besides numerous comics) are a couple Tv episodes
Thats what a novice is, a beginner, Johns and Mazeau (the new writer) as you call him are beginners in the film writing profession
I dont care if the end product is good Im just kind of nervous that a big budget film of one of my favorite heroes is being handled by amateurs

Mazeau is a new writer, but I wouldn't call him an "amateur". He's a professional screenwriter who has sold a spec script (The Land of Lost Things) and worked on a number of assignments (Jonny Quest, an untitled DreamWorks project, and The Flash). He was named as one of the Top 10 screenwriting newcomers to watch in 2008. He hasn't had a project produced yet, but screenwriting is an odd business. A lot of screenwriters make a ton of money and gain a lot of experience and yet only a small number of their screenplays will make it into production over the course of their career.

DId anyone say amateur though? I read novice, which definitely applies.

I will admit amateurs was the wrong word to use
But I still stand behind the notion that they are novices
