The Disney owns Fox thread

The mouse must take over everything, haha! :o

That's one way to get Fantastic Four and X-Men back, I guess. :funny:

And the distribution rights to A New Hope.

Hopefully this doesn't happen.

Yeah as I said in another thread I hope it doesn't happen. Mostly because of what it might do to the X-Men

Now if the X-Men can still do what they're doing, for the most part, film wise? Making bold, actually daring, and risky movies then fine let the merger happen. But if not I'm not a fan of this idea.

Im sure the rest of FOX won't be affected that much

This sounds bad. As much as I would like Disney to get their Marvel rights back, taking out Fox is getting dangerously close to a monopoly in terms of major studios and that's just scary for the industry.

It already sounds like it is dead, though.

I don't even wanna think about a Disney monopoly in the movie industry.

It's time to bring the mouse down!

As I have been saying, Disney is getting too powerful. This needs to be prevented if they try to go through with it.

If by X-Men you mean those not part of the team.

The team and its classic characters are in the backburner, unless Dark Phoenix is a huge surprise hit.

Yeah, I want the F4 rights back as much as the next guy, but Disney should NOT be allowed to accumulate any more power in the industry. If they really do try to do this, I say there's a very strong chance it gets blocked.

F4 in the MCU would be ideal, but I too want it to happen another way. Why not buy WB while at it too, and control everything under one umbrella. Very healthy...

Don't forget Sony Pictures, MGM and Paramount!

This is the kind of deal that the FCC is very wary of.
I doubt that it will ever happen.
I would also like to point that we would never see a movie like Logan in the MCU.
So it is good that Fox has the X-Men.

You realize how massive WB is with At&T? Or Universal with Comcast? Disney may be the biggest entertainment company, but those studios are part of bigger companies as a whole.

Just wait till Apple and Amazon start to really get into the game, That will be WW3

And Universal. And Lionsgate. And New Line. Disney is sprinting their way towards owning the film industry. This is bad news that I really hope doesn't happen.

Awful news... if it goes through. No one company, no matter who it is, needs to own everything. That's unhealthy for the markets and bad for everyone.

Amused to see people my age who claim to be "Disney Nerds" all their lives. While... I think some of that is genuine, it's a very small margin. For the longest time, it was fashionable to say "Screw the Mouse" nor was it socially acceptable to be a teenager/young adult in the late 90's/early 00s and profess your love for Disney.

Now its acceptable to suckle at Disney's teet as long as you get all your Star Wars, Marvel, nostalgia, etc. Because just about everyone is.

Disney is way too powerful as it is. The company projects a very fluffy image but they're shrewd when it comes to business and money.

If there is any entity I'd want to actually take over the world, it would be Disney. I'm all for this.

People on the Internet seriously need to start watching different kinds of movies and get some education on cinema.
