None of that ever happens for me, because I watch movies late at night and no-one else is around or would be awake at that hour to disturb me. And a pizza guy can only show up if I've ordered a pizza, and not randomly.

Also, if you are in the theatre and need to pee, that can be distracting too, because you can feel uncomfortable and you either have to hold it or duck out to the toilet and you start thinking about that. Therefore I never drink when I go to the cinema, especially with the air conditioning that can make you feel colder as well. That's why so many people are using the toilet all the time (even several times in the same film) because they drink so much and then they feel the breeze of the AC blowing on them.

And if someone smells in the theatre, you can't exactly spray them with deodorant, or hold your breath for two hours.

But when you go to a cinema, you know why you're there. It is specifically for the movie. For example, I have been rewatching Marvel movies with my fiance. She's gone with me to countless of these movies, often more than once. Guess how many times she talked to me or asked questions in the cinema? Never. Guess how many times she has during the movies I have when we're at home? Every time! Guess who has had to keep pausing, rewinding, etc. For movies we have never seen, she doesn't ask as many questions and such, but I have had to pause a movie before because she was confused.

Cinema 100% of the time, every time.

There are distractions in a cinema too - eg if people are talking, or they keep getting up to go to the toilet, or someone smells. I find it less distracting at home.

And there is always, always, always that indifferent ******* who just has to play games with their phone, text, have a ****ing conversation on it or otherwise keep their phone lit up during the movie and become a distraction.

I never got why putting your phone on a lower light setting is such a chore. Even if I need to use the phone I just bend down and kinda do it under my seat ifni can't leave.

Theatres should have something in them that disable cell phones. Some kind of scramble. If you desperately need to use it, go to the lobby.

The problem with that is if there is an emergency and someone is trying to contact the person in the theater as opposed to something in the theater requiring an emergency call. And besides the signal jammers aren't that precise. They could bleed into the lobby or other areas outside the theater room itself.

I understand emergency but then again, people survived for 2 hours in a theatre before the advent of cell phones. Some concerts they ask you to give up your phones. I get why.

99% of the time, there ain’t no real emergency.

People just need to be more considerate of others. For example, if you are walking out of the theatre and suddenly realise there's an extra post credits scene (even though they're in all Marvel movies) don't stop in your tracks in surprise to watch it while still standing up and obscuring the view of all the people behind you. Sit down or move and stand to the side.

Some people have done this. A whole row of people, and then they get angry if you ask them to sit down.

if your house is burning and someone is calling you that your house is burning i expect that the firefighters are on their way. If your mom/dad is on the floor having pain in the chest and someone found them.....i expect that person to call emergency.

Who knows? That's why it's an emergency and not a regularly scheduled case of danger. If it's important, then I'll take it outside of course. But I ain't disabling my phone.

Because I wanna experience small scale movies on the big screen, as well, and do not only care about huge blockbusters. And fortunately I am not alone, even though I'm aware that we're on SuperHeroHype! here.

Which is a fair reason, but what if the ultimate answer is "Sadly, there are not enough people to make such a release financially justifiable. Any movie of less than a certain scale requires a primarily TV/streaming release to justify its costs."?

This saddens me as I greatly prefer going to the cinema and being in a distraction free environment. There are too many distractions when watching a movie on TV or in your house.

I can't even finish an entire movie without clicking pause once and checking my cellphone. I watched Deadpool 2 yesterday, it took 3 hours for me to finish it as I was doing other things.

You should bring face mask.

Everytime I go to the cinema, I always make sure to wear my jacket on and that I'm wearing pants.
