The Documentary Thread

I believe it's the one where it follows them around. It's the one that's on Netflix streaming.
There's two on Netflix stream, and one on DVD, so three total. Two are just their stand-up, and the other is more like a documentary. All of them are good, though.

Hell yeah. Now I got both of the streaming in my Instant Queue.

another comic one is called i am comic. it's about the life of a comedian and doing standup. even follows an old comic coming back into it after so many years.

Yeah, I mentioned that in the beginning of this thread. You can stream that on Netflix, too.

Comedian is still my favorite. In fact, I'll probably watch that tonight. :yay:

some different docs i liked were trekkies 1 and 2. it is about star trek fans and the various star trek cast's take on them. i like some of the bands in part 1
I saw some of part 1 on TV once. The woman who stalked Brent Spiner really freaked me out.

Just watched that doc about real life superheros, I forgot the title, but it was pretty sad and fascinating at the same time. One of them, I think his name was Master Legend was really tragic but also kinda charismatic somehow lol.
Anyway I enjoyed it more than Kickass or Defendor. I still have to see Super.

"When We Were Kings" is really a great documentary.

That was a good one it was an HBO doc I forgot what it was called to lol but its worth watching.

For fans of French cinema I recommend Two in the Wave which chronicles Truffaut and Godard's friendship and falling out.

I just watched 'King of Kong' and 'American Movie' last week.

Both great.

I'm recording a series of doc called "Prohibition". It looks like a nice companion piece to "Boardwalk Empire", one of my favorite shows on TV right now.

Just watched a cool doc on Comedy Central about the making of South Park. I think it's called "6 Days to air."

I saw Senna last week. One of the best films of the year for me.

I haven't watched it yet, but that two parts doc on HBO about George Harrison (the "quiet" Beatle) seems pretty interesting.

Just saw conan obrien's can't stop. Really good doc about his hiatus and tour

I remember seeing 2 docs a long time ago before I even knew what a documentary was. Both about the martial arts action stars. One was top fighter the other cinema of vengeance or maybe it was called Kung Fu fighter can't remember. It had a who's who of martial artist old and new at that time. Talked about the progression from traditional kung Fu to muscle bound to lean real looking fighter types to fantastical styles in cinema. Also comedic and just raw and brutal. It had the full spectrum. The other spoke about each individual martial arts actor and the following generation. What each one brought to the genre.

I really liked Conan's doc. And those martial arts docs sound pretty interesting.

I recorded that doc series called Prohibition. Sounds like real life Boardwalk Empire.

was looking through my netflix watch it again. saw some docs i don't think i mentioned. one was called kicking it, about the homeless worldcup. the other was called heavy metal in baghdad, about a metal band in baghdad.

Crumb depresses me to no end. Charles and Maxon seemed at least, if not more so, talented than R. It's so sad they couldn't over come their mental issues. Seeing Charles on screen is just heart-breaking.

"Being Elmo" looks like a cool doc. I really want to see it.
