What do you think is the DUMBEST thing a superhero did in a comic book/superhero movie? And why?

Not kicking Alfred's ass when he brought Vicki Vale into the BatCave.

rogue taking the cure.

jean dying in x2

spidey's powers being affected by mj

elektra being born

everything done in ff and also the last stand, not to mention punisher.

ghost rider not being a complete badass

- Spider-Man totally forgetting he had spider-sense throughout all of SM3

[Fanboy]Wolverine having healing wife-beaters.[/Fanboy] :o

...I'm joking.

none of those are dumb things that characters did, they're things about the movies you dont like...any person with Rogues powers would have taken the cure, Jean sacrificed herself, spidey had no contol over what affected his powers, elektra had no option in being born, etc...

Reed Richards -- The WORST Scientist in Comic Book Films...

Seriously, first the guy f**ks up the time of the cosmic storm, putting all his friends in jeapordy. Then, what his brilliant idea to change them back?

Built a machine that reverses the process...which you can obviously tell in the diagram because it's got blue arrows and red arrows and a lot of s**t written on it...

Man is that like a law for how to handle science in hollywood?

Thing: Why isn't the machine ready yet? I want to be Ben Grimm again!
Reed: Ben do you see the size of those chalkboards? There's not nearly enough science on those chalkboards, I need two more weeks a filling those chalkboards with all kinds of science and s**t before it even looks like I know what I'm doing...

Then of course any notion of smarts being knocked into Richards went out the window with his clubbing shenanigans...

CFE

how was that?:ninja:

That's not what happened. Peter's powers were affected by the psychological stress of his life. Losing his friendships with Harry and MJ, failing at school, can't hold a job down etc.

It's all taken from the first Amazing Spider-Man Annual.

Supes going back to the bar at the end of Superman 2. seriously. W T F?

Batman getting his plane shot down by the Joker in 89. A gun can take down the Batplane!!!

Sorry but rogue shouldn't have been cured, highly tempted yes but actually taken it, nah. It completely demeans her character and the fact wolverine didn't care to stop her makes the matter worse.

Jean had no real reason to stand where she was during that whole escapade, she could have easily levitated herself up from the plane, or even done the same action from a safe distance. her sacrifice in that matter was a stupid one.

although spidey had no control, the way his powers reacted are indeed silly, almost hormonal. They don't cut in when a genuine innocent is in danger (burning house kid) but when it's something personal to him, they come into play like a drop of a hat. They also cut twice directly after being upset by MJ. Sorry but that just doesn't cut the mustard. But if you want dumbest action, then running into a burning building powerless is pretty stupid.

as for elektra, i'll give you that.

I won't give you the harry one because there were no signs of their relationship mending after he gave up his powers. I won't give you the job one either because he doesn't get another one.

I go with MJ because there are scenes with direct correlation to his powers.

misses play and sees her with someone else-power cut very soon after
finds out she's getting engaged-powers cut very soon after
realises she's kidnapped by ock-powers immediately come back

I understand she isn't the only stimulus bu you can't argue she's the main catalyst. Personally, I think that's dumb.

Either way, i'm merely stating my opinion which i feel isvalid based on cinematic evidence. Even if it is based on a comic, not all comics are gold.

:wow: that was one of my favorite parts, it's not like supes to take revenge but I'm glad he did.

Supes turning back time at the end of Superman 2 Richard Donner's cut was the clincher for me. He broke the rule against his father's wishes in the first movie because of love and I can understand it but turning back time a second time for his convenience was a bit too much.

That one i agree with, it totally ruins her character and the message of the movies IMO. Wasnt the message of the 1st 2 that you should accept that you are different? Well done Ratner, another thing messed up.

The message of acceptance was never fully explored - we saw the X-Men hiding in fear at that mansion. Only Nightcrawler seemed totally happy with himself! Rogue's power is definitely an affliction, especially for a teenage girl exploring her sexuality and feelings of fitting in.

But I agree it would have been better if she hadn't taken the cure.

Since they filmed an alternative scene with Rogue not taking the cure, and since Shuler Donner says on the DVD commentary that it was wrong for her to be cured, I don't understand why the studio execs didn't put their foot down and demand that it be in the movie.

it's because they forsaw a thread like this being created in superhero hype and wanted rogue to win the vote
