Sure, Singer didn't use black rubber or leather, but he made the neckline too high. The red too dark! The blue too light! The S too small!

While I loved Superman Returns, I wasn't too keen on the suit.

The colour I've got no problem with, it works great in the right light. The 'S' on the belt, I can deal (but I just see it as being redundant". 'No 'S' on the cape, fair enough. But the size of the 'S' on the chest does annoy me.

Superman's suit isn't about protection. He doesn't need it. It's meant to be a symbol. People are meant to be able to see that 'S' coming, that's why it's the size it is in the comics.

Fanboy nitpicking, I know. But I didn't stop it from letting me enjoy the movie.

That's not really nitpicking. The suit is I'd say a good 70% of what makes superman who he is. That's why it's remained so consistent throughout most of his comic career. Obviously without it, he's just clark so getting that suit right is very important in regards to whether the character is done justice on screen. So fanboys being extremely concerned with how the suit looks is perfectly justified.

Looks are always really important when adapting comics in fact. Now one could argue the adam west batman was more faithful representation of the comic book character's costume look, but would anyone want that to be how batman looks in cinema today? hmmm, food for thought.

Its very tricky to find the right balance in adapting a comic character's look. For superman, it's even worse because his costume is as iconic as he is.

I have to agree with you there the one thing I hated about the suit was the size of the \S/ although on screen it worked well here and there. I just think it should have been a little bigger.

I once heard some complain about the fact that the yellow \S/ wasn't on the back of the cape.

in the X3 forum someone said that wolverine velocity after Juggs threw him out the house wasn't enough for him to break threw the roof......and Juggs disobeying Magneto's order of keeping the X-men out the house by throwing wolverine in the house......and then fighting him in the house....

I don't like x3 on bit......but those just made me laugh......its a valid complaint...not dumb...just too nipticky....there were much more wrong with the movie than those little scenes.....but I'm bored and couldn't stop laughing at that.....
