The Extended Edition

You guys still have not said how you guys got the DVD so early!

Hey I gotta question:

One thing I was dissapointed about with the original was that the picture wasn't dark enough. It wasn't all pale and gritty. The Daredevil's Director's Cut was.
So is this version of Ghost Rider darker looking? Does it have a change in the picture? The IGN pics look like it but that may be fan boy hope.

Thanks for any answers.

There are some area's where it seemed darker, but the light tone is kept through the majority of the film

so where exactly would that blackheart caretaker scene take place? anybody have a clue? i'm really wanting to get the extended edition, but i only saw the movie once and that doens't seem like it's in continuity with what i saw

The Blackheart, caretaker scene takes place between the scene where Mack tells Roxanne about Johnny's weird habbits and where Johnny talks to that Camera man

Damn you know I went on ebay thinking it was there, I ended up buying one and then getting an email later saying that it wont be sent out until the DVD is released.

:cmad: Now I just got the DVD with shipping costs which means I wont be getting my copy on opening day, and I'll pay more money. Sonafa%&^*!

How did you get an unreleased extended cut that won't be out for another few months?

Ebay or lw?

so the scene doesn't contradict what already exists in the theatrical movie? that was a worry of mine, but if it makes sense, then great. it just seemed kinda weird that the scene ended *spoiler*with blackheart apparently killing caretaker, even though his last scene is with johnny *end spoiler*

Lol, dont worry. There is more to that scene. I cut it there so i wouldnt spoil everything for you and save some stuff for when you eventually get your copies

You cut some of the Caretaker whoop ass scene?

I'm not mad! That makes me excited again!:D

Hey The Ones, is there more to that Mephisto and Blackheart talk than what you posted? Do the Hidden ever come into the picture there?

That's all I want to know.
Thanks.

No, sorry. Thats all there is.

The only thing that is added to that, thats not really the talk, is after BH says. "We'll take this world, 1 city, at a time" we hear Mephisto yell "BLACKHEART!" outside, then BH turns and goes all demon faced, then he goes outside and that scene ensues

Also a little something i forgot to mention, they cut out Blackhearts: "Now we know his weakness" line. Which was a massive improvement in the context of the rest of the film with what was added in.

Ugh, does Mephisto calling out "BLACKHEART!" sound stupid?

And so them cutting out "Now we know his weakness" is for the better? I know he finds out in the
Caretaker whoop ass scene according to the novel.

It didnt sound stupid to me. But i'll let you be the judge: http://media.putfile.com/xcfvgbhnjm

Yes, it is for the better. He doesnt find out then, he just seems to remember back to that scene.

Meh, Mephisto sounds like he may be some burn out. I like it better than what was originally there though.

Wallow talking like he's about drunk "what about Mephistophles?" then Blackheart's stupid "don't ever...say that name..."

Then in the scene in the park or whatever Blackheart goes "MEPHISTOPHLES!". He is such a hypocrite.

I was hoping that the extended edition would have been more of an R-Rated cut compared to the PG-13 version but looks like it won't be. I guess they can get away with alot more when they just show demons turning into dust or goo. Hopefully Ghost Rider will get a little more brutal with the human bad guys in the sequel instead of just showing them the crimes that they have committed against others & making them feel the pain of the people that they have hurt.

My Wal-mart has the advertisements for the DVD's up at the enterences!

I am 50 / 50 on it now. Like The Ones said there is obviously more footage left out. So somehweer down the lines its obvious that Sony will do another DVD release. So I may hold out. In my opinion this cut was no where as good as Spider-Man 2.1 & that had even LESS new footage then this one & I have no doubt that Sony will do another double dip.

I doubt there will be another extended cut in the future, so....:o

Hold on a sec Assman you got banned?:ninja:

That'd be stupid if they go and make ANOTHER DVD after this one.:cmad:

I got my copy today. I was pleasantly impressed with the improvement to the beginning, up until the part where older Blaze performs his stunt. It was better how they changed the meeting between Blackheart and Mephisto. Carter Slade got a little more screen time and it was a good one. Good to see the cops weren't completely inept with the extra scene with Roxanne. Eva Mendes looked so hot. There are some quick flash scenes that I don't recall from the theatrical cut. So maybe they went back on those to improve them. Overall, I don't think they all made the movie much greater, but it did make it more watchable.

I wish they put in the Ghost Rider trailers. There are no Easter Eggs that I can find. The graphics of the DVD menu isn't so great. The extended cut alone makes this one is a keeper. Disc two doesn't offer great gems, except for the Al Pacino joke.

Hey, maybe Johnny's next stop will be the island from the remake of "The Wicker Man".
