I looked high and low for a thread and couldn't find one.

Wes Anderson is directing this adapatation of the Roald Dahl novel. It's going to be in stop motion (think Wallace and Gromit but not using clay), and features the voices of Meryl Streep, George Clooney (as Mrs. and Mr. Fox respectively), and Bill Murray. JoBlo got the first pic.

It's coming out this November so we should be getting a trailer fairly soon. Maybe with Where the Wild Things Are?

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this. Looks to a huge departure from his usual style.

im really excited for this as well, huge fan of Wes Anderson and even though i liked Darjeeling Limited, i was still a little dissapointed. Im hoping this will be completely different from what he usually does. Im psyched.

I remember reading the book in 6th grade...I used to be a massive Roald Dahl fanboy back in those days and read everything he released.

I was wondering when someone was going to make a thread.

I'm not sure how I feel about the look of it, I think I'm gonna have to see it in motion to be able to judge. And, yeah, Roald Dahl kicks ass.

Anderson is cool.
Roald Dahl is cool.
This particular story is cool.
Stop-motion is cool.

I'm looking forward to this.

Meanwhile, I'm gonna have to start working up the nerve to actually go and see this in a theatre. A theatre packed with kids and their parents looking up at me me with that questioning look, obviously thinking ''This guy stumbled into the wrong showing''.

I don't think you will have much to worry about. Anderson's name will attract a lot of his fans. Plus so many people from the sixties onwards have grown up on Dahl's books that they will come out for it. Not to mention that Pixar films have made it safe for adults to go to a lot more animated movies :)

The animation is gorgeous. That pic alone puts it on my Anticipated list.

I do hope Anderson can suppress the out-of-control preciousness that dragged down Life Aquatic and Darjeeling Limited though.

Roald Dahl + Stop-motion = me in the theatre opening weekend.

Nice! This is an oppurtunity to do something really different for Anderson. (Even though the cast consists mostly of people that he has already worked with, but that doesn't really matter)

the style of the characters don't have that typical stop motion look, with over exaggerated features. In fact, they have more of a Thunderbirds look ala stop motion. It could be different.

Those pictures look great. I love Anderson's movies and this is definitely a nice change of pace for him.

Exactly.

I only wish they would do a Dr. Suess book in Stop motion...

and thank GOD this is gonna be from Fox SEARCHLIGHT and not stupid Fox.

This is awesome. I loved the book. I can't wait to see what the three nasty farmers, Boggis, Bunce, and Bean look like.

I see a Star Fox movie in the making after this haha

I still have to re-read this book. I don't really remember much of it.

This was my favorite book as a kid, so I'm both looking forward to this, and kinda dreading it in case it doesn't live up to my hopes lol

Oh great, a movie for hipsters AND furries.

But seriously, this movie looks pretty cool.

We need some pictures of the three nasty farmers.
