Well, when Gere's character was smuggling illegal goods into the barracks (polished shoes, buckles, etc) Perryman thought it was his "duty" criticize & pontificate if he were to get caught it'd jeopardize the him & his fellow roommates.


When "flash inspection" came along, Perryman didn't have his share of buckles up to "par" & begged Mayo (Gere's character) if he had any to spare. Mayo told him he couldn't risk etc, but because Gossett's charcter was eavesdropping, he found out & Mayo's character was punished badly.



Mayo's fellow classmates showed compassion & encouraged him not to give up or DOR, except Perryman.

I saw the David Brent movie. It was okay, probably a 6.5/10. Some amusing moments but not Ricky's best work.
