Zack Ryder's Last ReZort:

[YT]uCgeb2ecCc8[/YT]

So Zack Ryder is about to try to get himself over again......Not a big fan but if he can get himself over again, more power to him. BUT he better hope they dont punish him for getting over without their permission again.

needs to have a new gimmick

pranking fellow superstars would be quite a cool one imo - would get people tuning in and could somewhat translate onscreen too perhaps

Yeah, Zack Ryder better watch his back. You don't get popular unless management says so.

:o

Should WWE get rid of MITB PPV and concept as well as drop WWE Battleground while bringing back King of The Ring as a PPV event?

I personally think it would be better because the guys that are starting to get over and develop strong rapport with the audiences could build MOMENTUM before they are elevated instead of getting buried on a weekly basis to build "suspense" for a briefcase cash-in that may or may not amount to anything.

Damien Sandow, Wade Barrett, Dolph Ziggler etc etc could have benefitted FAR MORE from a KOTR crowning and a solid victory promo once they got over as opposed to getting buried over a briefcase. MITB is extremely counterproductive to what it's trying to accomplish because they are telling the audience that these guys shouldnt be taken seriously while simultaneously hoping to get over their title reigns with the shock value of a suprise cash in.

KOTR, not only convinces the audience that the company is taking the performer seriously but also forces them to have to protect them and book them strongly going into their elevation to the main event scene. Of course, said performers would actually have to be over in the first place in order for this to work BUT that goes without saying.

I say do a Buried Alive match at WrestleMania. WWE hasn't done that gimmick to death.

HHH has probably called dibs on it since it's likely what he's got planned for Daniel Bryan :oldrazz:

I hate MITB. It's been played out like crazy. I agree with you. Bring back KOTR. It gives some guys something to do instead of aimless matches. The tournament itself has prestige and the winner gets a credible push.

Exactly, you'd have to put them into programs with actual storylines during Burying Season aka Mania Season even if they dont enter title contention until after Burying Season is over.

Imagine if Dolph Ziggler's victory at TLC 2012 would have been followed up with an escape victory on Cena in that cage match, a feud with Jericho that he comes out of victoriously and then a victory at KOTR before moving to the main event instead of winning TLC 2012 then getting the rug cut right from underneath him a few weeks later all the way until his 4 weeks from Mania where he starts winning again, gets the title, loses to Swagger on free TV and gets a concussion....which lead to being screwed over entirely

Hey Nolan, any input on this whole debate of KOTR replacing MITB in its entirety...both as a concept and a PPV?

If we're not careful we might wind up with a PPV called "Buried Alive". With the title match and a blood feud having the two matches.

Actually it'll be a PPV where Triple H faces the entire WWE Roster and buries them all alive using a massive shovel.

:o

I really don't care for MITB anymore. It really doesn't elevate nobody and the cheap cash-ins are so overplayed at this point. I would really like to see KOTR come back. What was the reason why the PPV was canned in the first place? Was it because of how poor the 2002 PPV was? Because I could totally understand why that was a reason.

You could use that name then for damn near any segment or match he's had in the past 12 years.

LOL didnt they continue KOTR after that though?....It ended up leading to Booker T's King Booker shtick in 2006-2007.

Canning KOTR is dumb for that reason to me simply because the crappiness was their own fault. Not anything to do with the PPV concept and history itself.

I meant as an actual PPV.

Sad thing is in a matter of time they'll start thinking the same thing about MITB, they'll misuse it so much that to them it's a useless concept when it's always how you handle the idea that can show it's actually usefulness.

I agree but I would still have a MITB match atleast once at WM.

It was a TV thing even then? DAMN, shows how unmemorable that stuff was when they devalued KOTR.

Booker winning was at Judgement Day 2006 and when Regal and Sheamus won it, they were both on Raw.
